REVIEW: YSL Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils

WHO DOESN'T LOVE CARA?! NOT ME. 

This is my first time EVER trying out mascara from YSL. If you didn't know, YSL or Yves Saint Laurent is a very high-end makeup/designer brand that I'm completely obsessed with! You can guess how extremely excited I was when I was sent this mascara to test out and review. It usually retails for $32 and can be found at your local Sephora or on the YSL website here!

To my knowledge, they remade this mascara with a new formula and re-released it. Unfortunately, I am unable to compare to the old formula since I've never tried it, but here are my thoughts on the new formula!

FIRST IMPRESSIONS:

PROS: The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was that the packaging is drop-dead gorgeous! Like come on, it's all gold... what's not to love?! Second thing I noticed when I opened the tube of mascara was the scent. This was not the average mascara scent that comes in every tube, but it smelled fresh like it had a light and pretty perfume.

CONS: NOTHING! Well, besides the pricey tag of course... I normally wouldn't pay $32 for just a mascara.

REVIEW: I just cannot get over the scent! I absolutely LOVE it! The brush is made of nylon fiber which makes it easy to get each lash covered. The formula contains B5 Pro-Vitamin which helps protect your lashes. It is also great because it's not crackly or crumbly and does NOT dry out (YAY). It stays on my lashes and has a very soft, touchable texture. It has a great staying power and lasts all day and is super easy to take off (I like to use this eye makeup remover from Sephora here.) I totally agree that it does a great job at adding length to your lashes and volume and making my eyes look wide open. The only problem I have with it is that it gets clumpy super easily if you're not careful about how you apply it. This mascara also weighed down my lashes and made me lose my curl and I hate trying to curl my lashes AFTER putting on mascara!
