As the weather gets colder, I've realized that lip balm sometimes isn't enough to hydrate my ever-dry lips, so I often find myself searching for hydrating lipsticks that'll help nourish my lips without compromising color. For me, a moisturizing lipstick during the Fall and Winter seasons is a necessity!
Recently, I've found myself reaching for the Missha Glam Art Rouge, which help give my lips the rich color I desire, while still keeping my lips moisturized and in tip-top shape! They're formulated with Bulgarian Rose Oil and Rose of Jericho which help provide hydration and nourishment.

MISSHA GLAM ART ROUGE
The Glam Art Rouge (3.6g) comes in a chic and classy black lipstick case that's magnetic! The magnetic closure is surprisingly very strong and literally pulls the cap shut making the entire packaging extremely secure. The case itself has some weight and is made out of a high quality material making it one of the more luxurious lipsticks I own. It also feels sturdy and durable, so it's both purse-friendly and travel-friendly!
Unlike typical lipsticks, the Glam Art Rouge features a diamond-shaped packaging, kind of like a lip, with rounded edges that fit easily into the hand making it easy to hold and control.

At the very top of the cap is the brand name, 'Missha', engraved in gold lettering, which just adds an even classier touch to the lipstick. The packaging definitely gets an A+ from me!
The lipstick bullet itself is also quite out of the ordinary. It features a unique shape where the top half of the bullet comes to a diamond-like point, while the bottom half is completely rounded. The pointed tip allows for precise application especially along the edges of the lips while the rounded bottom part allows for easy all-over application on the body of the lips.
If you haven't noticed already, there's also an adorable lip imprint stamped directly onto the lipstick bullet of each individual one!
The Glam Art Rouge comes in a wide array of shades ranging from everyday nudes, pretty pinks, corals, oranges, purples, and bold reds! There are currently 20 different shades in the collection, which is a huge shade selection for just one lipstick!
The shades I'll be reviewing today are:
BEIGE RUG | PETIT RIBBON | DRY FLOWER | RED BOSS | ROSE BRICK
BEIGE RUG (BE01)
INGREDIENTS: Disostearyl Malate, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Octyldodecanol, Titanium Dioxide, Diglyceryl Sebacate/Isopalmitate, Ozokerite, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ceresin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polyethylene, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Synthetic Wax, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Iron Oxides, Alumina, Yellow 5 Lake, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Fragrance(Parfum), Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Glyceryl Caprylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Iron Oxides, Rose Flower Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Anastatica Hierochuntica Extract, Nylon-12, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Lactobacillus Ferment
Beige Rug is a neutral nude beige with a semi-opaque finish. It's a straight-up nude shade with little to no hints of pink or brown in it, making it a difficult color to wear. It ended up washing out my face since it was too similar to my skin tone! Personally, Beige Rug looks more like a concealer rather than a lipstick, which would make it work well as a base when creating gradient-type lips, but it's not a shade I would reach for when wearing alone.
It applies sheerer and more uneven than the rest, requiring multiple layers for decent color payoff. Unfortunately, it clung to dry spots and emphasized my fine lines on my lips, so it's critical to exfoliate well before wearing this shade! Beige Rug was a miss for me and the oddball out, since the rest of the shades wore much better!

PETIT RIBBON (PK01)
INGREDIENTS: Disostearyl Malate, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Octyldodecanol, Diglyceryl Sebacate/Isopalmitate, Ozokerite, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ceresin, Titanium Dioxide, Dicalcium Phosphate, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polyethylene, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Synthetic Wax, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Alumina, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Iron Oxides, Fragrance(Parfum), Red 7, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Iron Oxides, Yellow 6 Lake, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Glyceryl Caprylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Blue 1 Lake, Rose Flower Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Anastatica Hierochuntica Extract, Nylon-12, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Lactobacillus Ferment
Petit Ribbon is a rosy pink that would compliment all skin tones! It's the perfect everyday hue that's appropriate for school, work, dates, or any occasion and any season. Unlike Beige Rug, Petit Ribbon has very decent pigmentation, but requires about 2 swipes to get an even color application. It's an easily buildable color that doesn't emphasize dry patches, but if applied too many layers, it does begin to settle into the fine lines!
DRY FLOWER (CR04)
INGREDIENTS: Disostearyl Malate, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Octyldodecanol, Diglyceryl Sebacate/Isopalmitate, Ozokerite, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Ceresin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Titanium Dioxide, Dicalcium Phosphate, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polyethylene, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Synthetic Wax, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Alumina, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Red 6, Rose Flower Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Anastatica Hierochuntica Extract, Lactobacillus Ferment, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Glyceryl Caprylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Nylon-12, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Fragrance(Parfum), Iron Oxides, Red 33, Red 27, Blue 1
Dry Flower is a rosy coral that leans on the warm side of the spectrum. I can't help but notice that as the shades progress and get darker, the formula improves a lot! Dry Flower contains rich pigmentation with just one swipe. It glides on effortlessly onto the lips without emphasizing any dry skin or imperfections.
This is my go-to shade for adding a pop of color to the lips without being too bold! It's the perfect coral hue that's still appropriate not only the Fall and Winter season, but Spring and Summer as well!

RED BOSS (RD03)
INGREDIENTS: Disostearyl Malate, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Octyldodecanol, Diglyceryl Sebacate/Isopalmitate, Ozokerite, Ceresin, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Red 7, Dicalcium Phosphate, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, Yellow 6 Lake, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Sorbitan Isostearate, Polyethylene, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Synthetic Wax, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Alumina, Red 6, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Fragrance(Parfum), Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Iron Oxides, Glyceryl Caprylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Rose Flower Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Anastatica Hierochuntica Extract, Nylon-12, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Lactobacillus Ferment
Red Boss is a vibrant deep red. It's a very neutral-toned hue that's not too orange or blue based, so it would compliment all skin tones! Red Boss glides over the lips creating a smooth even surface. With just one swipe, you get very intense, bold color!
It's a crazy pigmented and eye-catching shade, that doesn't settle in fine lines, doesn't cling to dead skin, and has very minimal transfer. Plus, it makes teeth appear much whiter than they actually are!

ROSE BRICK (RD04)
INGREDIENTS: Disostearyl Malate, Propylene Glycol Dibenzoate, Neopentyl Glycol Diheptanoate, Octyldodecanol, Diglyceryl Sebacate/Isopalmitate, Ozokerite, Ceresin, Pentaerythrityl Tetraisostearate, Polyglyceryl-2 Triisostearate, Bis-Diglyceryl Polyacyladipate-2, Dicalcium Phosphate, Methyl Hydrogenated Rosinate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Polyethylene, VP/Hexadecene Copolymer, Sorbitan Isostearate, Phytosteryl/Isostearyl/Cetyl/Stearyl/Behenyl Dimer Dilinoleate, Red 7, Methyl Methacrylate Crosspolymer, Synthetic Wax, Polyglyceryl-2 Diisostearate, Yellow 5 Lake, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Iron Oxides, Alumina, Iron Oxides, Red 30, Ethylene/Propylene Copolymer, Phytosteryl Macadamiate, Fragrance(Parfum), Stearalkonium Hectorite, Propylene Carbonate, Silica, Glyceryl Caprylate, Caprylyl Glycol, Rose Flower Oil, Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Anastatica Hierochuntica Extract, Nylon-12, Polymethylsilsesquioxane, Lactobacillus Ferment
Rose Brick is a medium-dark red with berry tones that's ideal for an easy-to-wear vampy lip! It has a semi-opaque formula that's buildable, but for even all-over application, I'd layer on two swipes of this beauty. Its rich color payoff and glossy finish doesn't cling to any unwanted spots. If you want to rock a bold lip that's easier to wear than a bright red, like Red Boss, try this vampy hue!
The Glam Art Rouge features a creamy formula that melts on contact with the lips, allowing for smooth application. It deposits rich color as you apply and leaves behind a glossy finish that nourishes and moisturizes the lips throughout the day. One gripe I do have about this product is that the texture for the lighter shades, Beige Rug and Petit Ribbon, can be too creamy to the point where it settles into the fine lines of my lips. Strangely, I don't notice this at all with the darker shades!
These lipsticks have a buildable and mostly opaque pigmentation, with an exception of Beige Rug which has a more sheerer/semi-opaque formulation, that evenly coats the lips with intense color. These lipsticks do have an added fragrance, but it's an enjoyable and faint fruity scent that smells like grapes to me!

Performance-wise, the darker shades noticeably had richer pigmentation than the lighter shades! The darker hues, like Dry Flower, Red Boss, and Rose Brick also wore a few hours longer than the lighter shades, reaching up to 4 hours of wear before fading and wearing off, while the lighter shades wore off about 2-3 hours in. Generally, the lipsticks are not super long lasting, but I want to note that when the glossy sheen wears off, there's still color that's left behind on the lips. Though these aren't meant to leave a stain, the darker hues, like Red Boss and Rose Brick, did leave behind a very slight stain that stayed on an hour or so after the color has faded.
FINAL THOUGHTS
The Glam Art Rouge does a fantastic job at keeping my lips hydrated throughout the day! It's a nourishing lipstick that leaves behind a glossy finish, but surprisingly has very minimal transfer. Besides Beige Rug being a miss for me, all of the other shades wore very well with a creamy and rich color payoff! The only problem I have with these lipsticks is that they can be too creamy at times, so 1-2 swipes is usually the line. That's great though because it's hard to find lipsticks this pigmented with only 1 swipe!
These lipsticks have the ideal nourishing formula that provides the lips with comfortable color. The darker shades, however, have better pigmentation and performance (wear time) than the lighter shades, so I'd definitely recommend trying out the darker hues in this collection! :)

I adore the Dry Flower & Red Boss shades on you <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteI am so happy to see these lipsticks finally take off in the beauty world - I first tried them in Spring upon the first release, and fell head over heels! The shade French Lavender is one of the most unique colours I own, and a spectacular formula <3 <3 <3
You should give their Glam Flash Rouge a go too - it's like a super pigmented gloss that stains the lips, and feels absolutely heavenly. I sometimes use it in lieu of lip balm, when I'm out, because my lips get really soft and smooth...love!

Thank you :D If I'm not mistaken, I think they MAY have been reformulated? I'm not completely sure though, but it seems that way since there's a little test statistic about the improvement of these lipsticks on the Missha product page!
DeleteI was actually really interested in French Lavender! I love me some purple hues, so it's definitely on my radar. I also have my eye on some of the brown shades too, so maybe I'll pick up some more to review. :) Also, thank you for the recommendation! I'm ALWAYS on the hunt for new makeup to try, so I'll definitely keep that in mind. It already sounds lovely, especially if it can replace your lip balm! ^ o ^
It seems like the Rouge Bless You could be what the regular Glam Art Rouge lipsticks will be changed to - speaking of which, I am actually working on a formula comparison post XD it isn't massively different, but there are definite improvements that are lovely to see on an already great product!
DeleteDo it - it's a show-stopping shade! I always get so many compliments when wearing it :)
Yes! Browns! I am eyeing those as well, gotta love some 90s vibes!
The Glam Flash Rouge in Sick Heart is what I have - an amazing mauve/brown shade that's both very chic and modern, and reminiscent of the best of the 90s looks (if you know the show Charmed, it's so a colour that either Prue or Phoebe would have rocked)!
Big fan of the two lightest shades! Although I probably can't pull off the beige shade, I'd probably look quite dead with it on. Absolutely love the reds too though, there's such a gorgeous glossy look to them all.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I don't think I can pull of Beige Rug either... It's so light! But yes! They all have a really pretty glossy sheen to them :)
