REVIEW + SWATCHES: I'M MEME I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tint

Since the lip tint market is so saturated in the K-beauty industry, it's rare for me to find a lip tint that stands out from the rest... That is, until I tried the I'M MEME I'm Tic Toc Tint Lip Velvet!

With its unique cushion applicator, its handy "tic toc" dispensing mechanism, and a comfortable cream texture, the I'm Tic Toc Tint Lip Velvet is unlike any other lip product I've ever tried. It managed to wow me from the moment I applied the first swipe 'til the end of the day!

I'M MEME I'M TIC TOC CUSHION VELVET TINT

"This innovative cream lip stain is possibly the most comfortable velvety matte formula you’ve ever tried. The cream applies smooth and opaque, wears beautifully throughout the day, and leaves a vibrant tint behind. With each “tic toc” click of the lip pen, just enough product saturates the pillowy soft cushion tip applicator." - Product Description from Memebox

PRODUCT WEIGHT: 2.5g
RETAIL PRICE: $13

The I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tint is a creamy lip tint housed in a pen-shaped design. The lip tint pen is decked out in a matte rubberized material that's comparable to Nars packaging. It features a slanted, fuzzy cushion applicator and a clickable button (that makes a "tic toc" noise, hence the name) that dispenses a moderate amount of product.

The cushion tip contains miniature holes throughout the center of the applicator, which is where the tint oozes out of when dispensed. Usually, I'm not a huge fan of the cushion-tip applicators for hygienic reasons - they get dirty after one use and it's hard, and sometimes impossible, to clean. However, the fuzzy cushion tip on the I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tint coupled with its amazing formula outweighs all of the bad.

The cushion tip complements the creamy tint by blending out the formula seamlessly onto the lips without completely flattening out the pillowy texture. It applies the tint smoothly, evenly, and with easy control giving you a flawless application every time. One thing to note is that I wasn't able to get super precise lines with the applicator since it's rounded, but I personally preferred the blended edges that the cushion tip helped me achieve.

I use about 2-3 clicks to cover my entire lip, however there are two ways to apply this product:

1) The suggested way is to apply the lip tint in dabbing motions. This is the method that I personally follow just because I feel like it gives my lips a plumper, fuller, but still "my natural lips" appearance. Dabbing the product on helps me achieve expertly blended edges effortlessly!

2) The other way to apply this is to just click a few times to dispense the product, and swipe it on like you would your average lipstick. This method will give you cleaner and crisper lines for a more precision application!

The I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tint is currently available in 5 shades ranging from your typical reds, oranges, and pinks, but it also includes a couple neutral hues!

001 DANGEROUS RED

Dangerous Red is a fiery red that pulled slightly orange on me. This red is crazy pigmented and left behind one of the most vibrant stains that lasted all day on me, even 'til the next morning!

002 LIVELY ORANGE

Lively Orange is a vivid tangerine orange that's a fun, but just as bright alternative to your common reds. This particular shade was intensely pigmented with just one swipe and it left behind a stain that lasted 10+ hours!

003 WICKED PINK

Wicked Pink is a lively hot pink that brightens up any complexion and is another shade that has a vibrant long-lasting stain. This is one of my personal favorites for the spring and summer!

004 MODEST BROWN

Modest Brown is a muted peachy brown with warmer undertones. The name is pretty deceiving as I was expecting a brown hue rather than an orangey-peach, but nonetheless I do like this shade a lot! Though it does leave behind a slight stain, the vibrancy of the stain isn't nearly as strong or long-lasting as Dangerous Red, Lively Orange, or Wicked Pink.

005 INNOCENT BEIGE

Innocent Beige is a rosey pink nude that's become my daily MLBB (or "My Lips But Better") lippie of choice! It leaves behind a light pinky beige tint, but since it's very close to my natural lip color, the staining power isn't as strong or apparent as the other four shades.

The I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tint is not your average lip tint. It has a creamy, but thick pillowy formula that's similar to a mousse texture. It's comfortable on the lips and doesn't dry it out. Plus, the cushiony texture smoothes over fine lines without settling into the crevices or emphasizing them. Not to mention it smells absolutely delicious, like sweet chocolatey goodness!

Personally, I would describe the formula as a hybrid between a comfortable creamy liquid lipstick and a lip tint - it has the pigmentation and opaque coverage of a creamy liquid lipstick, but leaves behind a long-lasting stain like a lip tint!

Left to Right: Dangerous Red   |   Lively Orange   |   Wicked Pink    |   Modest Brown   |   Innocent Beige

When initially applied, the lip tint has a slightly glossy sheen to it and takes a while to set. I like to speed up the process by blotting it with a tissue, which leaves behind a velvety matte finish that doesn't budge or transfer. It also stains gracefully too, so there's not awkward patchy, or cracking tint! However, the neutral shades, Modest Brown and Innocent Beige, had the weakest staining power since these hues are similar to my natural lip color and only lasted for 2-3 hours before fading off whereas Dangerous Red, Lively Orange, and Wicked Pink left the most intense and vibrant stains behind, lasting 10+ hours. I even notice some color left on my lips the next morning!

FINAL THOUGHTS

I was not expecting much from the I'm Tic Toc Cushion Velvet Tints since most lip tints have very similar formulas and wear the same, but these blew me away. I would even go as far to say that these are THE best lip tint I've ever used and I just cannot say enough good things about it. I couldn't find a flaw with the formula, which is so surprising, but one thing I'm not crazy about is the applicator. Even though it works exceptionally well with the tint, it gets dirty after just one use and I'm not sure if it's able to be cleaned. It would be nice to have replacements, or be able to pop off the top to clean, but nonetheless the applicator helps the tint to apply evenly and streak-free.

It's hard to pick a favorite because all of the shades performed so well, but Innocent Beige would be my go-to daily MLBB tint, while Dangerous Red, Lively Orange, and Wicked Pink are all great vivid shades for the spring and summer!
