UNBOXING: Beauteque Mask Maven April 2018

Beauteque sent me their Mask Maven box for the month of April! The theme for this month was 'sip, sip, hooray!' or in other words, it was filled with "thirst-quenching" and drink-inspired sheet masks. I'm a huge sheet mask lover, so this subscription box truly speaks to me!

Lets jump right in to the unboxing and review for April's Mask Maven! :D

BEAUTEQUE APRIL 2018 MASK MAVEN

The Beauteque Mask Maven is a monthly subscription beauty box that focuses exclusively on Korean sheet masks. Each box comes with 9 sheet masks and each month revolves around a new theme!

WHAT'S IN IT: 9 Korean sheet masks

COST: $15 /month (+ $3.95 shipping)

The Mask Maven theme for April was "Sip sip, Hooray!" which boasts juicy and refreshing sheet masks with yummy drink inspired flavors.

"This month, we've blended your favorite beverages together and are serving them up sheet mask style. 

On the menu is coffee, juice, probiotic drinks, beer *no age restrictions here*, and more! This refreshing fusion of masks will help keep your skin hydrated and dewy all month long. So sip back, relax, and let your skin drink up the benefits. Cheers!"

Beauteque was spot on when curating the box around the theme. All of the products are either drink-based/drink-themed or based on juicy fruits for this month. I also really like that they include a "menu" for what's in the box!

I have not tried out any of these masks below, with the exception of one! This blog post is merely an unboxing and not a review of the individual sheet masks, but for the box as a whole.

First up on the menu is Coffee + Teas!

Lastly we have the On Tap category, which just happens to be one of my favorite sheet masks ever:

ULTRU I'M SORRY FOR MY SKIN JELLY MASK - REVITALIZING   |   $4

"This rich jelly essence blends moisture-retaining desert yucca, agave, and prickly pear with brightening grapefruit extracts for a dewy glow."

This is the one mask that I was able to try (and have tried previously in the past) and LOVE. The fabric of the sheet mask is a super thin and comfortable on the face. The essence is a thick, nourishing jelly formula that the skin just drinks all up. It truly revitalizes the skin, brightens up dull complexions, and gives it plenty of moisture to last well through the next day.

*For the value, I did a quick Google search to find stores selling the products. These do not include the cost of shipping, and any other miscellaneous costs.

FINAL THOUGHTS

April's Mask Maven came with a total of 9 sheet masks with an estimated value of around ~$20.50. The box costs $15 (+ $3.95 shipping), so the value was not that great this month. You do save a couple bucks going with the subscription, but I was not super impressed with the value. 

Keep in mind though, that you ARE paying for the curation of the box too. This is still a nice option to sample a wide selection of brands and types of sheet masks. Plus, some of these masks or brands may be harder to find, so overall, I do think this subscription is worth trying if you are a mask lover!
