One of the few things I can't live without, and can rarely leave the house without, is eyeliner! Even after years and years of practicing eyeliner and the perfect winged out cat eye, it's still something that requires a lot of patience, time, and perseverance. To be completely honest, I mess up every single time, and have to try at least 3-4 times to get it right. I've come to realize that doing a perfect cat eye doesn't depend on just the flick of your wrist, but it also depends on the type and quality of eyeliner you're using. Trust me, I've gone through over 30 different brands and types of eyeliner, in counting, and I have yet to come close to my perfect holy grail.
I often get people asking me, "How can I get better at doing my eyeliner?" Well, there's no real way to get better at using eyeliner besides practicing. Remember the saying, "Practice makes perfect?" Well, that's completely true when talking about eyeliner, especially liquid liners.
There are many different types of eyeliners falling into three different categories: pencil, gel, and liquid. Not only that though, there's also different variations/products for each type. For gel eyeliners, you have the gel pot, but also the gel liners that come in pencil form, or the gel liners that come in pens that you can just twist to use. For liquid liners, there's the ones that come in the little bottles, or ones that come in pens, but there's also the pens that have felt tips, silicone tips, or brush tips. As you can see, eyeliners are a very tricky thing and it can be difficult trying to find the best one for you. Ultimately, it takes a lot of trial and error to find not only the type that works for you, but also the kind of applicator tip you work best with, PLUS, finding the formula that you like the most whether it be a matte finish, a shiny/glossy one, or a natural semi-matte one.

REVIEW:
Packaging and Design
Can we please all take a moment to appreciate the beauty that is the M Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner?! I mean, the packaging of this pen liner not only comes in a shiny solid gold box, but the pen itself is also decked out in a shiny solid gold, with pretty gold vertical stripes running down the body of the pen. The pen comes with a matching gold pull-off cap that covers a built-in superfine and thin brush applicator tip.
I have used many eyeliner pens so far, but this one definitely takes the winning trophy in looks! It's such a pretty luxurious pen that is sure to catch anyone's eye.
Ease of Use
Compared to the liquid eyeliners that come in the little bottles, pen liners are so much easier to use and control (from my own personal experience and preference). The M Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner is no exception. The fact that it comes in a pen form makes it super easy to grasp and hold. The pretty gold cap is easy to pull off and snap back on for a secure and tight closure. Plus, the superfine skinny brush tip is one I prefer, not those with felt or silicone tips, because they're much easier to control when drawing the shape of the line. If you want a thin line, apply less pressure, but if you want a thicker line just apply more pressure.
Texture and Scent
The M Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner has a very smooth texture. It's so smooth that it glides on the lids and skin really easily with no tug or pull. This liner has a natural semi-matte finish to it; it's not super glossy, but it's also not completely matte either. There is also no scent that I can detect from this eyeliner.
You can go from teeny tiny thin lines to thick and bold lines! It bled a little on the skin when swatching on my hand, but it doesn't bleed when applied onto my eyelids.
Effectiveness
What I want most from an eyeliner is for it to last all day. I don't want to have to worry about my eyeliner smudging along the bottom of my lids, or elsewhere, leaving me with messy raccoon looking eyes, ya feel? Well, the M Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner delivers and promises that raccoon eyes won't happen. What will happen is that you'll get a smudge and budge proof line that won't transfer onto other areas around your eyes. It's also very quick-drying, so you would need to work fast with this eyeliner or have some cotton swabs and makeup remover ready to fix the mistakes. The M Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner is very long-lasting; it stays put and lasts ALL DAY! It also doesn't flake or fade.
PROS:
Beautiful luxurious gold packaging
Superfine brush tip
Easy to control pen & size/width of lines
Smooth & precise application
Quick-drying formula
Pigmented
Smudge/Budge-proof
Long-lasting
CONS:
NONE
RATING: 5/5
Everything about the M Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner was fabulous from the packaging, the skinny brush tip, the formula, and its long-lasting abilities. It has a flake-free budge-proof formula that stays all day without smudging or fading. This is without a doubt one of the best eyeliner pens I have ever used!
Personally, this knocks the Clio Kill Black Brush Liner (and possibly even my beloved Kat Von D Tattoo Liner *gasp*) out of the water because the superfine and skinny brush makes it easier to control and a piece of cake to use!
The Missha M Real Lasting Pen Eyeliner retails for $15.99 and is available at HERE!

HI, is this eyeliner difficult to remove it??
ReplyDeleteYes! I's a very long-lasting eyeliner and it's harder to remove than other liquid liners, but I've never had a big problem with it. I just use a waterproof, oil-based eye makeup remover and an all-over facial oil cleanser when removing my makeup and it's gone by then!
DeleteI'm absolutely amazed by this eyeliner but i can't seem to find it anywhere???
ReplyDeleteOh no! I tried looking for it too, but it seems like it's sold out everywhere (or it might be discontinued)! :(
