REVIEW: Botanic Farm Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack

The newest type of skincare products for me are sleeping packs. I used to think that they were pointless and that I didn't need them, but boy was I completely wrong. Sleeping packs help to keep in all of the skincare steps you did previously. They also work overnight to help replenish your skin with extra nutrients (from the sleeping pack) that your skin may be lacking. I always had the reoccurring problem of dry flakes and dehydrated skin, but upon the discovery of sleeping packs, I said my final goodbyes to dehydration and haven't had it come back since!

Of course, whenever I find a beauty product I love, I become extremely obsessed and have a uncontrollable need to try every product in that category; like when I just discovered how great cushion compacts were a few months ago and now I have a growing collection of like 11 (no exaggeration). Yeah, I'm just a true beauty junkie LOL.

Anyway, one of the sleeping packs I was able to get my hands on, courtesy of Memebox, was the Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack from Botanic Farm!

WHAT'S THE BLACK SOYBEAN MILK PUDDING SLEEPING PACK?

Botanic Farm’s Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack boosts skin cell regeneration to be able to produce softer, firmer and more flawless skin overnight. The body naturally repairs itself during sleep and with the help of the highly nourishing ingredients this sleeping pack contains, it doubles up the skin’s ability to repair itself by having the nutrients thoroughly penetrate the skin.

By having fermented bean extract, milk and collagen as it key components, the sleeping pack’s moisturizing effect is grandiose. It also provides a moisture shield barrier that protects the skin to outdoor exposure the very next day. (Taken from Memebox.com)

REVIEW

Packaging and Design
The Botanic Farm Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack comes in the most adorable little carton! It reminds me a lot of those elementary school days where we got those pint-sized cartons of milk during lunchtime. Inside the carton, you'll find a sturdy dark black-brown jar with an easy to open twist-off cap. The jar is super simplistic and there's nothing really special about it. It's easy-to-use and very practical so it's good enough for me.

There is also a spatula that's included (a huge plus!) right inside the jar. The only problem I had with this is that it looks like it's supposed to be held inside the little nook on the plastic white covering of the jar, but for some reason it just doesn't stay put which is a little annoying but it's not a huge deal.

Texture and Scent
The Botanic Farm Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack has one of the most unique textures I've ever felt when it come to skincare products! It has a very pale light caramel color and the texture is exactly like a jello or pudding. It jiggles in the jar when you shake it!

The spatula cuts the sleeping pack like a knife and scooping out the product looks like you're scooping up a blob of jello! It's not a sleeping pack with a complete liquid consistency, but more of a solid. The product in the jar also has a "memory foam" formula; after you scoop out product, it moves and goes back to it's original uninterrupted state! It's slightly freaky, but totally cool at the same time :D

Now on the skin, the sleeping pack's texture changes. It remains like a thick, smooth blob of jello until it's applied. When it comes into contact with your skin, it melts and transforms into an incredibly hydrating gel. It feels like a water balloon just bursted on your skin! It's SO hydrating that it just engulfs your face with so much moisture and you're left with refreshed and saturated skin. Even though the skin feels drenched with moisture, it doesn't feel greasy at all! I especially recommend this to those with dry and thirsty skin types.

Also, the scent is BOMB. I'm probably a bit biased because I love soybeans, milk, and pudding and this sleeping pack has a mixture of all of these scents. It's a mild sweet scent that I find to smell yummy, like a black or red bean dessert!

Ease of Use

HOW TO USE: After washing and toning, scoop an appropriate amount of the Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack and spread it evenly all over the face. massage the pack for 3 minutes and leave overnight. Rinse it off with lukewarm water the next morning.

This is a basic sleeping pack in terms of use. I love how there's an included spatula to scoop out just enough product. However, it's hard to tell exactly how much you need for your face because a little goes a long way with this sleeping pack. I would advise you to start off with a little and get more as you need it.

The sleeping pack melts when rubbed on to the skin and is easily spreadable; it just glides all across the face with ease! There's nothing difficult about how to use this product, just scoop, apply, and spread :D

There is a downside with this sleeping pack: it has a tacky finish, but in my own personal experience, all sleeping packs I've used have had a sticky finish that disappears by morning. The con with this sticky finish is that you'll probably want to convert to being a back sleeper to avoid the mask rubbing off onto your pillow and blankets!

Performance
The Botanic Farm Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack is extremely effective and probably the main star of this sleeping pack. It made my skin feel so quenched that it felt like it worked instantly in the hydration department. I used the sleeping pack twice a week for 4 weeks so far. Using the pack has helped make my skin appear more youthful and feel baby-butt smooth and soft.

The added burst of moisture from the sleeping pack gave me incredibly supple, plump, and flexible skin in the morning. My usually dull skin had a soft luminous glow after using this pack and it made my skin feel well-rested, refreshed, and energized! Not only that, but my skin's texture improved; no rough patches were in sight and bumps were minimized. The bottom line: my skin felt and looked flawless (like "Beyonce I-woke-up-like-dis" flawless)!

PROS:

Burst of hydration
Improved skin texture
No more dull skin
No more dryness
Refreshing
Scent is delicious
Fun thick jello texture

CONS:

Spatula doesn't fit in the cover
Slightly sticky finish

The Botanic Farm Black Soybean Milk Pudding Sleeping Pack is definitely a treat to use and I highly recommend it to those with dull skin, dehydrated/dry/thirsty skin, or anyone who needs some extra hydration! Despite the slightly sticky finish, it works great in repairing my skin and prepping it for the next days to come. Two thumbs up from me!

  1. Don't be concerned about the semantics because all sleep mask used the same way, as a sleeping aid.

    1. Sleeping masks are not sleeping aids, at least not the beauty product kind -- they're masks that are meant to be used at night, while you sleep, and washed off in the morning. It's used to help retain moisture into the skin as well as many other benefits.
