REVIEW: L'Herboflore Sheet Masks (Chlorella Anti-Oxidant, Apple C, and Cherry Blossom)

The #1 skincare item I use to achieve better looking and feeling skin is, hands-down, sheet masks! I am a total mask addict; I use one every single night and it does wonders with improving my skin's texture and appearance. Sheet masks are such a good way to give your skin a boost of nutrients and benefits it may be lacking. My favorite masks usually consists of Korean brands, but lately I've been exploring some Taiwanese masks and I am highly impressed!

Today, I'm going be reviewing a trio of L'Herboflore Sheet Masks that were sent to me by the super sweet Chuusi.ca! They're a relatively new store, but their prices on the L'Herboflore masks are the cheapest I have ever seen (from a Canadian/US seller)! They're $3 CAD a pop which is currently equivalent to about ~$2.26 US dollars :D I've seen L'Herboflore masks range anywhere from $4-$8 (USD... yeah, it's crazy!) at other Asian Beauty stores... and yikes! I don't know how Chuusi does it, but they need to keep on doing their thang.

The three masks I'll be reviewing today are the Aegean Sea: Chlorella Anti-Oxidant Firming Mask, and two from the Garden of Venus collection: Apple C Whitening Hydromask, and the Cherry Blossom Whitening Mask!

The Fit and Quality

These masks are so, so pretty, I just love looking at them! The little round flap sticking out from the right corner of the masks is such a useful inclusion to the design of the mask packet. This surprisingly wonderful flap makes it super easy to tear open the packet without accidentally ripping the mask inside. I like to give the packet a nice tap or shake before opening just so the essence doesn't spill out of the bag.

Anyway, let me first start off with the fit of these masks... THEY. ARE. BOMB.
Seriously. I must admit that it's not the most perfect fit in the world, but it sure is extremely close to it. These masks are made to fit most, if not all, face shapes and sizes. They look wider than they are long, but when applied, it just fits perfectly from edge to edge with a small amount wrapping under my chin (which I like). Obviously, you guys won't have the same face shape as me BUT, what's great about these masks is that there are little perforated slits all along the edges of the mask which allow for a more customized fit. For instance there's one on each side of the forehead, temples/cheekbones, bottom of the jaw, one at the chin, etc. These slits don't come already separated, so if you like the mask as is, then you can keep them that way, but if you don't you can gently tear along the slits and overlap the mask flaps to get a more perfect fit.

The eyeholes are also pretty large and it's not necessarily a complaint or a con from me because 1) these masks are clearly made to fit a number of different face sizes/eye shapes, so it's a good thing, and 2) the wide space around the eyes keeps the essence from getting into my pupils (I often have this problem with sheet masks that have tiny eye holes)! The only slight problem I have with big eye holes is that part of my undereye area, the upper half of my eye bags/dark circles, don't get treated by the mask. But on the bright side, it also allows for those of you who love multi-masking to use under eye gels with this mask! :)

Also, I just HAVE to mention the quality of these masks. The fabric that it's made out of feels heavenly on the skin and it's literally to-die-for. The L'Herboflore masks stand out from the rest because they use a very thin, lightweight, and incredibly breathable piece of fabric for their sheet mask. It easily conforms to the contours of your face and it adheres so well! There's no sliding around or adjusting needed with these masks. The mask itself is super smooth and feels very luxurious. Plus the essence absorbs directly into the skin, instead of just sitting on it!

Here's a little info on the mask sheet (Taken from LHerbflore.com):

The L'Herboflore masks are also well saturated with essence, but surprisingly, it doesn't drip or create a mess all over the place. There's also ample essence left in each mask packet for those of you who like to apply the essence onto your neck, arms, hands, legs, whatever! :)

THE MASK 'FLAVORS'

GARDEN OF VENUS: APPLE C WHITENING HYDROMASK

A whitening sheet mask enriched with Apple extract, vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin B5 to enhance the radiance of the skin. The moisturizing factors hydrate the skin, brighten dull skin, and smooth wrinkles for an apple fresh complexion!

MAJOR INGREDIENTS: Apple Extract and Sodium Hyaluronate

INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Butylene Glyol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Pyrus Malus (Apple) Juice, Mannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Cellulose, Panthenol, Trehalose, Xanthan Gum, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Sulfite, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Sodium Acetate

The Apple C sheet mask was definitely my favorite out of the bunch because of the 'Red Delicious apple' scent! I just have to reiterate that the mask is so smooth and feels luxurious on the skin. The mask has the word "whitening" in the title, but it doesn't bleach your skin or anything like that. It actually really brightened up my complexion while also hydrating my skin! This mask helped to improve my skin texture by making my skin much more supple to the touch and crazy soft. The redness/red dots on my cheeks were minimized if not completely gone. Plus it left me with tightened pores and a glowing complexion that lasted into the next day (I wear these at night).

This mask was the most effective for me out of the three! It was one of my worst skin days in a while, so I got to put this to the ultimate test and it passed with flying colors! :D

Here's a full face and close-up side-by-side comparison so you can see how drastic the improvement was!

The L'Herboflore Garden of Venus: Apple C Whitening Hydromask currently retails for $3CAD which is equivalent to about ~$2.26 USD right now! It's available at Chuusi.ca, HERE!

GARDEN OF VENUS: CHERRY BLOSSOM WHITENING MASK

A whitening sheet mask enriched with Cherry Blossom extract to soften, brighten, nourish, and moisturize the skin. The added trehalose, hyaluronic acid and aloe vera extract helps seal in the nutrients with long-lasting hydration.

MAJOR INGREDIENTS: Yoshino Cherry Blossom Extract and Hyaluronic Acid
INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Butylene Glycol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Citric Acid, Glycerin, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hyaluronic Acid, Allantoin, Propylene Glycol, Mannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Isopropyl Alcohol, Cellulose, Prunus Yedoensis (Cherry Blossom) Flower Extract, Trehalose, Xanthan Gum, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Triethanolamine, Parfum (Fragrance), Sodium Benzoate, Potassium Sorbate, Sodium Sulfite, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Sodium Acetate
The scent in the Cherry Blossom Whitening Mask was a lot less strong than the Apple C. I was slightly disappointed because the Apple one smelled so delicious and I was hoping they were all incredible like that. The scent of this one was very faint and smelled like soft florals, almost like a fresh spring garden. This mask really brightened up my face; it was illuminated! My dull skin was revived and refreshed after using this and my skin's texture was very soft, smooth, and silky. This mask, like most of (if not all) the L'Herboflore masks, is super hydrating for the skin. Personally, I found that the effects of this mask were pretty similar to that of the Apple C in regards to brightening!

My bad guys, I accidentally took these photos at slightly different angles and just couldn't find a way to properly line them up, but you get the gist LOL.

AEGEAN SEA: CHLORELLA ANTI-OXIDANT FIRMING MASK

A firming sheet mask enriched with Chlorella Extract and Oat polysaccharides to moisturize, fight dryness, and promote firmness to the skin. With anti-oxidant ingredients and hyaluronic acid, the skin is left fully hydrated and rejuvenated. Reveal the youthfulness in your skin now!

MAJOR INGREDIENTS: Chlorella Extract, Oat Polysaccharides, and Deep Ocean Water

INGREDIENTS: Aqua (Water), Glycerin, Butylene Glyol, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydrolyzed Oat Protein, Quaternium-15, Tetrasodium EDTA, Allantoin, Propylene Glycol, Methylisothiazolinone, Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Xanthan Gum, Hyaluronic Acid, Phenoxyethanol, Glycosaminoglycans, Trisodium EDTA, Potassium Sorbate, Pullulan, Algae Extract, Sodium Benzoate, Mannitol, Sodium Citrate, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15, Sea Water, Polyglutamic Acid, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Sodium Acetate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Cellulose, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Parfum (Fragrance)

I had the hardest time trying to pinpoint the scent for this one and I'm sad to say I just can't put my finger on it! It's a super faint scent that's even lighter than the Cherry Blossom mask to the point where I seriously could not detect it. Performance-wise, my complexion was brighter, clearer and more even throughout. In addition to having hydrated and supple skin, my face felt tightened and toned especially around the upper cheek area. My skin was lifted and more firm to the touch with the effects lasting throughout the next day!

P.S. Sorry for all the shininess in the 'before' photo; I forgot to take the pic before I applied my facial oil! It's kinda hard to notice a huge difference because of the reflection of the flash, but my complexion is a lot more even in the after shot especially around my cheek area where it tends to have some discoloration!

The L'Herboflore Aegean Sea: Chlorella Anti-Oxidant Firming Mask currently retails for $3CAD which is equivalent to about ~$2.26 USD right now! It's available at Chuusi.ca, HERE!

FINAL THOUGHTS?

Overall L'Herboflore masks are the very best masks I have ever tried quality-wise, fit-wise, and maybe even performance wise. These are the masks that everyone else should strive to be! They feel great on the skin and are made out of a unique lightweight fabric that allows for maximum absorption while still being totally breathable and gentle on the face. Plus you can achieve a perfect customized fit! The essences penetrate deep within the layers of your skin instead of just sitting on the surface and that's how each mask offers intense hydration. These masks have worked to improve my skin's complexion and texture while also adding in doses of moisture allowing for my skin to be more supple to the touch.
