REVIEW: Hansaeng Cosmetics Rin Bi-gyeol Yun Cream

Skincare containing fermented ingredients and deriving from traditional Korean medicine, often dubbed "hanbang", has been all the rage lately with Asian beauty enthusiasts like me. This is due to the fact that these hanbang cosmetics are chock full of skin-loving ingredients that help fight aging by making the skin more youthful, bouncy, and elastic. Recently, I've been testing out one hanbang moisturizer in particular, the Rin Bi-gyeol Yun Cream by Hansaeng Cosmetics, which boasts an anti-wrinkle and whitening formula!

HANSAENG COSMETICS RIN BI-GYEOL YUN CREAM

As a highly-enriched and nutritious moisturizer, the Rin Bi-gyeol Yun Cream works with its harmonious recipe of six-year-old fermented ginseng extract, Danhwayeon (an herbal flower complex), and patent oriental herbal ingredients. It invites you to enjoy dewy and radiant skin!

The Rin Bi-gyeol Yun Cream claims to have an anti-wrinkle and whitening formula containing both Niacinamide and Adenosine. Niacinamide gives the skin a brighter tone and enhances the complexion while Adenosine works to refine wrinkles. The main ingredients in this hanbang cream is 6 year ginseng, an oriental flower complex (Danhwayeon), which supplies rich nutrients to the skin, and a patented oriental herbal ingredients. Including extracts of phellinus linteus, mulberry root, and gold, this oriental herbal cream helps strengthen the skin's barrier making it more elastic and smooth.

The Rin Bi-gyeol Yun Cream (50ml) comes in a bright yellow jar surrounded by an outer glass encasing. The packaging is pretty similar to the Bi-gyeol Yun Essence (review here), but instead of a silver top, this cream has a reflective gold cap. The packaging itself is very beautiful and luxurious, as well as durable! It's has some weight to it and is made of a high-quality material, which is only fitting for the high quality ingredients it holds. Unfortunately, the cream does not come with an included spatula, so you'll need to have one handy!

The cream has a somewhat thick and rich texture that spreads really easily on the skin. A little truly goes a long way with this cream, and once it's applied, it feels very breathable on! I recommend a tiny pea sized amount for the entire face and any more could make it feel heavy. It dries down and absorbs quickly into the skin, but be careful not to use too much or else it'll end up creating a heavy layer that'll sit on the surface. It also has a potent powdery floral scent that quickly dissipates once it dries down, so it's not too overwhelming, but those super sensitive to smells might want to steer clear.

My dehydrated skin LOVES this stuff and literally drinks it up, but on days when my skin has enough moisture, it can feel like too much. It injects my skin with a major boost of hydration and moisture making my skin dewy, bouncy, and supple to the touch. Because my skin is often dehydrated and I usually don't get enough sleep, it ends up looking dry and dull. With this cream, it gives my dull skin life by transforming it to one that's brighter, as well as more plump and revitalized. I don't have any wrinkles at the moment, but I do like to use this as a preventative measure.

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Rin Bi-gyeol Yun Cream is an ultra moisturizing cream that works well in transforming dull and dry skin to one that's more bouncy and plump! Because of its strong moisturizing abilities, it's probably best for those with dry skin or for the winter time when your skin is lacking in moisture. I only like to use this cream during emergencies like when my skin is flakey and dehydrated, but for other times, I like to opt for something that's more lightweight on the skin. Performance-wise, I can't attest to its anti-wrinkle claims, but it does give my skin a brighter complexion that's more supple to the touch! It's too rich for me to use daily, but in times where my skin is too dry or dull, it helps get it back on track.
