When it comes to lipsticks, there are days where I like to rock bright and vivid shades like purple or hot pink, and other days where I want to go for a deep sultry shade of red, and then there are days where I just want to go really natural and reach for the 'my lips, but better' lipsticks. Today, I'm going to be reviewing one of those 'my lips, but better' lipsticks: The Colour Burst Lipstick in Irreverence from Rouge Bunny Rouge!
WHAT IS THE COLOUR BURST LIPSTICK?

Packaging and Design
The Rouge Bunny Rouge Colour Burst Lipstick comes in a shiny black tube with a quaint white pattern on the body of the tube. Since the lipstick is said to have been inspired by "fiercely beautiful royal dragonflies," according to Rouge Bunny Rouge, I think they're supposed to resemble dragonflies, but honestly it's just a cute little design I can't make out LOL. The tube of lipstick is made of a really nice, tough quality material making it very sturdy and perfect to throw into a purse for on-the-go. The overall look is very simplistic, but gives off a luxurious feel.
Ease of Use/Application
The cap is super easy to pull off and put back on. It doesn't click or snap shut, but instead gains tension giving it a tight and secure closure. The lipstick also effortlessly twists up from the bottom of the tube. Overall, it's a piece of cake to use! Now, application-wise -- it glides on like a dream! It glides on with no tug or pull, nor does it cling to dry spots.
Texture and Scent
The texture of the lipstick is just incredible. It's a super creamy and smooth texture that leaves a somewhat glossy finish after applied (sort of like 'jelly' lipsticks). It feels very lightweight and silky on the lips too; not cakey or dry. There's not really a strong distinctive scent that I can detect.
Effectiveness
This color is THE perfect shade that would go well with all skin tones; it's a gorgeous dusty rose-nude that is a universally friendly shade. It's also the perfect lipstick to wear on a daily basis, for special events, or for anything! It's highly pigmented; just one swipe already gives your lips full color. It's not drying whatsoever, but is actually very hydrating and moisturizing. It sort of feels like a lip balm but with intense color, so perfect for that everyday wear! The lip color is long-lasting with minimal color transfer. Since it has a glossy finish, it does rub off easily, but only the shine is minimized not the color. The lipstick doesn't cling to dry spots nor does it emphasize fine lines or wrinkles. It also doesn't settle into your fine lines!
