I've previously mentioned in some previous posts how often I like to style my hair. It's true, I'm constantly using hot tools in my hair probably every day and I know, I've put my hair through a lot! Lately, I've taken a step back and decided that if I'm going to put my hair through so much work, I figured I might as well start taking better care of my locks.
Today, I'll be reviewing the Kerastase Resistance Bain Therapiste and the Soin Premier Therapiste! I've tried many shampoos and hair care products throughout my lifetime, but this is my first time using a hair care line that focuses specifically on weak, damaged and overworked hair!
Today, I'll be reviewing the Kerastase Resistance Bain Therapiste and the Soin Premier Therapiste! I've tried many shampoos and hair care products throughout my lifetime, but this is my first time using a hair care line that focuses specifically on weak, damaged and overworked hair!
The Kerastase Resistance Bain Therapiste is an extra creamy shampoo with fiber renewal care made specifically for very damaged, over-processed fine, medium and thick hair. It's the first shampoo with a unique jellified texture that repairs the hair fiber while gently cleansing. This shampoo envelops the fiber during cleansing to reduce friction.
The Kerastase Soin Premier Therapiste is a Reverse Fiber Renewal Care Conditioner created to use before shampoo to protect and repair very damaged, over-processed hair without the weigh-down effect. This conditioner acts like a caring gauze to protect the fiber before shampoo.
REVIEW
Packaging and Design
The Kerastase Resistance duo both come in simple, but gorgeous teal squeeze tubes. The Bain Therapiste (shampoo) comes in a pretty shiny packaging while the Soin Permier Therapiste (conditioner) comes in a matte one. Both are really easy-to-use however the bottle for the shampoo is slightly flimsy. However, that's also a good thing because it's really easy to squeeze and dispense product.
Ease of Use
When I first tried out this product I was really confused! You're supposed to use the conditioner before the shampoo which totally blew my mind.
To use the Soin Premier Therapiste: Before cleansing, using a quarter-sized amount, massage into wet hair from lengths to ends. Rinse. Follow up with the Bain Therapiste Renewal Shampoo
The conditioner is used before the shampoo in order to protect and treat the strands before cleaning it. The consistency can be easily applied to wet hair and it coats each strand really well. What I like about the conditioner is that it washes out really well; it doesn't take forever to rinse nor does it leave a slime-y residue some conditioners can leave.
To use the Bain Therapiste: Using a quarter-sized amount, massage into wet hair and scalp. Rinse.
This is the most unique shampoo I have ever used! The consistency is a jelly-like balm that I work in between my palms before applying on my hair. My hair is pretty long so I like to use about a small handful instead of a quarter-sized amount. It coats all the strands really well and lathers easily. It rinses out completely and leaves the hair feeling refreshed and clean!
Texture and Scent
The texture of the Bain Therapiste is a very thick opaque pearly-white balm texture. When working it between your palms, it gets really tacky and sticky, but when adding water, it foams up and lathers really well.
On the other hand, the Soin Premier Therapiste is a super creamy and thick white conditioner that's extremely gentle on the scalp. The creaminess of the conditioner makes it very spreadable and effortless to apply.
Both products contain the same scent that is quite strong. Personally, I find it to be overwhelming, but after a few uses I got used to it. It's a really strong mixture between a perfume and a chemical scent; for me, it smells like the typical salon scent which I usually get a headache from.
Effectiveness
If I had to say only one thing about using these two products, I'd say that I felt like I got brand new hair! Seriously. I never know how damaged and over-processed my hair was until using this duo gave my hair a complete 360. Normally, my hair is limp, dull, and just boring. However, the Kerastase Resistance Shampoo and Conditioner took my mane and revamped it into soft, incredibly shiny, and smooth locks. My entire head (scalp included) was revitalized and my hair felt so lightweight and FREE!I was able to notice a drastic difference even just after the very first use. I continue to use these two products a few times a week and leave the shower with healthy and lively hair each time. Each strand has gotten stronger and silkier. My hair has an intense glossy sheen that makes me feel like I got my hair done at the salon. It truly feels like all the damage I've done to my mane by always using hot tools has somewhat been erased and my strands have gotten healthier and brought back to life.
I highly recommend both the shampoo and conditioner if you struggle with damaged, weak, and overworked hair! These products helped my hair look and feel stronger and healthier. The only thing I disliked about these products is the overpowering chemical-y scent, but besides that these products are definitely worth a try!
