REVIEW: COVERGIRL Plumpify BlastPRO Mascara + Oh Sugar! Lip Balm in Sprinkle

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of posts~ T^T I've just been super busy, in addition to my blogging laptop still being broken, and so is my SD card so these photos probably aren't the best haha. I'm getting back into reviewing more things though so expect more reviews soon, I promise! :D Anyway, I was recently sent the brand spankin' new COVERGIRL Plumpify BlastPRO Mascara and the Oh Sugar! Lip Balm to test out and review thanks to Influenster! :)

If you're not a member of Influenster, definitely sign up because you'll be able to test products for free in exchange for your honest opinions (you're not paid to like anything; it's all about you!) and little tasks like posting photos on Instagram, or tweeting about the product, and etc. It's super fun, low-maitenance, and I've received a lot of awesome stuff from them including YSL numerous times! ^ o ^ Anyway, I'm not paid to say this or anything, but I just love their influencer program a lot and anyone can join. :D

Moving on, I received the COVERGIRL Plumpify BlastPRO Mascara in 800 Very Black, which is a decently pigmented dark black. The packaging of the mascara tube is very simplistic -- it's an all black tube with silver lettering and a bright red cap. Like the name of the product, Plumpify BlastPRO, the mascara claims to plump up your lashes and add 50 TIMES more volume! At first, I was so skeptical reading that, because 50 times more volume is a pretty big claim, so naturally, I immediately wiped off the day's makeup and began coating my lashes with this mascara.

The plumping formula is supposed to help build volume and separation while the double-action brush plumps and lifts lashes. The result? I was left with lashes that were much longer and slightly more voluminous, but it certainly didn't seem 50 times more volumized! I have very thin, stick-straight, Asian eye lashes and I noticed that the mascara's formula was weighing down my lashes causing me to lose my curl. :( The formula of the mascara is lovely though! It's a thick and smooth formula that gives the lashes a beautiful, flexible coat that's touchable and not flaky! It really adheres well to the lashes which is a huge plus!

However, the one thing I don't like about this mascara is the mascara wand. THIS THING IS HUGE and it's definitely way too big to get a good grip on without worrying about accidentally poking your eye or smudging the mascara onto your lids. It's not as easy to control the wand during application as compared to mascaras with thinner and smaller wand heads, which I would have preferred. On the other hand though, the wand does have a rounded spiky tip on the brush which makes it easy to reach those small, stubborn, and hard-to-reach lashes.

Overall, the Plumpify BlastPRO Mascara did a fantastic job lengthening my mascara, but it made it difficult to hold a curl and weighed down my lashes.

Now on to my favorite item of the review... The Oh Sugar! Lip Balm! I received this lip balm in the shade #8 Sprinkle which is a gorgeous and vibrant rose shade. What's so special about this lip balm is that it's a vitamin infused balm, containing grape seed and avocado oil, that's functional by nourishing the skin while also adding a gorgeous tint to your lips.

The Oh Sugar! Lip Balm is hands-down the best lip balm I have tried so far and I am a lip balm junkie. The balm glides onto the lips almost effortlessly and melts on a hydrating coat. It works so well to moisturize and nourish my naturally dry lips that I can actually notice my lips feeling better the more I use it. What's better is that the formula doesn't sink into my fine lines or cling to dry spots, so I get a nice and even pop of color on my lips that's lightweight and feels way more comfortable than any lipstick or lip gloss. ALSO, the scent is AMAZING -- It smells like black sugar or a sweet molasses, which is heavenly for me.

Personally, I find the Oh Sugar! Lip Balm to be very similar and quite possibly a dupe to the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment lip balms, but not a 100% perfect match. I've tried both and they have the same functionality of moisturizing and nourishing the lips, but I'd have to say that the Oh Sugar! Lip Balm is less pigmented than Fresh. One great thing about the Oh Sugar! is that it doesn't emphasize or cling to dry spots and that can sometimes be a problem with Fresh.

Overall, I would definitely go out and purchase more shades of Oh Sugar! Lip Balms because they're affordable, nicely pigmented, and moisturizing! I highly recommend giving this a try if you're in the market for some low-maitenence lip products, without skimping out in the color department! :)
