REVIEW: Kicho Sheep Oil Cream

Korea, one of the most beauty-forward and innovative countries, is known for using not-so-normal ingredients in their skincare products such as bee venom, snail filtrate, and donkey milk... but SHEEP OIL?! I know, it sounds crazy at first, but upon more research I found that the sheep oil, or Lanolin, is actually made from the sheep's wool and the animal itself is NOT harmed at all, so, of course, my adventurous side got the best of me here! Surprisingly, Lanolin is actually present in many beauty products and chances are it's in your facial creams, cosmetics (like lip sticks) or your lip balms, so it's not totally out of the ordinary!

One of the newest brands I've recently been introduced to is Kicho and I have been so obsessed since! I've previously reviewed the Kicho Ultra Moisturizing Sun Cream, which not only made me want to start wearing sunscreen, but also made me fall in love with the natural and chemical-free brand, so I was super excited to give their Sheep Oil Cream a try!

KICHO SHEEP OIL CREAM

A daily moisturizer formulated with Lanolin from Germany and an 8 berry complex, proven to prevent signs of aging, provide significant moisture, and give a smooth texture. Clinically proven to add to skin's moisture reservoir to keep it hydrated all day.

The Kicho Sheep Oil Cream is made from pure lanolin only from New Zealand lamb wools purified with German technology. Let me reiterate that this cream is made from the lamb's wool and not from any body part of the lamb, and the animals are NOT harmed whatsoever! Lanolin is the only animal-based oil that can be obtained without killing animals and it is very similar to our skin's own sebum.

INGREDIENTS: Water, Dimethicone, Glycerin, Cyclopentasiloxane, Lanolin Oil, Beeswax, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-7 Dimethicone, Sodium Polystyrene Sulfonate, Sea Water, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Sodium Hyaluronate, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, PEG-100 Stearate, CI 19140,Dimethicone/PEG-10/15 Crosspolymer, Dimethicone/Vinyl Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Zanthoxylum Piperitum Fruit Extract, Pulsatilla Koreana Extract, Usnea Barbata (Lichen) Extract, Ceramide 3, Dipeptide-Diaminobutyroyl Benzylamide Diacetate, Hippophae Rhamnoides Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Euterpe Oleracea Fruit Extract, Fragaria Chiloensis (Strawberry) Fruit Extract, Rubus Idaeus (Rasberry) Fruit Extract, Morus Nigra Fruit Extract, Vaccinium Macrocarpon (Cranberry) Fruit Extract, Lycium Chinense Fruit Extract, Totarol, Decylene Glycol, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Hexylene Glycol, Butylene Glycol, CI 15985,Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Medica Vulgaris Peel Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Peel Oil,Lavandula Angustifolla (Lavender)Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Oil, Citrus Nobilis (Mandarin Orange) Peel Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Flower Oil

The Lanolin is combined with multi-vitamins from eight different types of berries including Sea Buckthorn, Cranberry, Acai Palm, Strawberry, Blueberry, Goji Berry, Blackberry, and Raspberry. These 8 different berries contain countless multi-vitamins and antioxidants that work together to moisturize, brighten, and relieve the skin from irritants.

The Kicho Sheep Oil Cream also features an 8 Non-Additive Prescription which includes NO T.E.A, Artificial Scents, Mineral Oil, Isopropyl Alcohol, Parabens, Urea, Heavy Metals, or Formaldehyde.

REVIEW

The packaging for the Kicho Sheep Oil Cream is simple gorgeous! The product box contains a beautiful floral design that wraps around the entire top half of the box. There is also a holographic Kicho sticker in the corner of the box that shows its authenticity! The bottom half of the box, which is just as gorgeous and cute, has adorable sheep graphics on all 4 sides of the box! The cream itself sits carefully on a styrofoam bedding that keeps the jar snug and prevents it from moving around or breaking. They definitely took the time to create a fool-proof packaging for the cream!

The Sheep Oil Cream comes housed in a clear, squarish glass jar with a tin twist-off cap. The jar itself is relatively heavy, but that's because it's made of real glass, so it's definitely something you have to be careful with. The cap is easy to twist on and off, but unfortunately there was no spatula included to scoop out the product! I definitely recommend getting one, because using your fingers to scoop out product increases the spread of germs throughout the product. The jar comes with 65 ml (or 2.11 fl. oz.) of product which might seem like a small amount for the price tag, but a little bit really goes a long way with this cream.

The Kicho Sheep Oil Cream is a pale yellow color that reminds me a lot of butter or custard. The texture is thick, creamy and rich, but applies really easily. It melts onto the skin and absorbs quickly without leaving any sticky, greasy, or shiny residue. It's surprisingly not oily at all, for a cream that's made of oils! It's relatively lightweight, breathable and doesn't clog my pores at all, which is a huge plus!

Also, the Sheep Oil Cream smells lovely, despite it containing Lanolin which can be kinda stinky! It smells very natural like a mixture of herbs and fruits (berries)!

The cream penetrates deep within the layers of the skin to provide ample amounts of moisture that keeps the skin hydrated all day/night! Personally, I like to use this a night cream just because it's so moisturizing, but the Sheep Oil Cream can also be used during the day and under makeup. It absorbs fast and moisturizes incredibly well, so your skin will be flake-free which is the ideal base for makeup. Plus the moisture is long-lasting and lasts all day for me! It's an all-around well-balanced cream that's non-irritating and very nourishing and gentle.

The Sheep Oil Cream is a very effective cream that does its purpose and does it well. I have very dehydrated skin so the Sheep Oil Cream is a life-saver for me. It gives me the perfect amount of moisture without overdoing it. It transforms my usually dry and tight skin to one that's plump, hydrated, and soft to the touch. I can't say much about its anti-aging properties dealing with wrinkles or fine lines, but it truly does help make my skin more supple and luminous, giving me a nice natural glow. My skin tends to get irritated and flakey during the colder weather, but the Sheep Oil Cream helped nourish my skin and soothe all irritations, while eliminating the obvious flakey skin. Plus, when applied, the Sheep Oil Cream also has a slight cooling effect that's really soothing on the skin!

FINAL THOUGHTS?

All in all, I cannot recommend the Kicho Sheep Oil Cream enough -- I absolutely LOVE it! It's formulated with sheep oil (Lanolin), which has amazing moisturizing properties, along with 8 different kinds of berries that are chock full of vitamins and antioxidants, which help nourish and brighten the skin. Since sheep oil is very similar to our own skin's sebum, it penetrates deep within the layers of our skin unlike most moisturizers and creams that just sit on the surface. It's incredibly lightweight and breathable, but still provides the skin with long-lasting moisture. I've noticed that my skin has become much more supple, moisturized, and luminous thanks to the natural-looking glow the cream provides.

This is the perfect cream to use when your skin is in dire need of moisture and hydration! The Sheep Oil Cream can be used with all skin types, even those with sensitive skin because of the natural and chemical-free ingredients. I especially recommend the Sheep Oil Cream to those with dry or dehydrated skin because this cream will give you all the moisture you need. Trust me, your skin will thank you!

  2. I have been interested in facial creams for years, but could never find one that actually did what it said it would do. I was skeptical of Bio France Lab because it really did not have any reviews, but after ordering I am shocked! This is the best face cream I have ever used. It covers up all my blemishes and acne scars. I was worried, because it did not have any SPF, but I found out that it doesn't need any. I really don't want anyone to get this product because I want to keep it all to myself, but I strongly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a high quality face cream. I am getting one for my mother in law for mother's day. I feel like she will love it just as much as I do.
