REVIEW: Rouge Bunny Rouge RAW GARDEN Eye Shadow Palette (Caliche) + COUPON

Rouge Bunny Rouge recently launched several new products for their fall collection centered around a "Rose Garden Melody" theme! What I love about RBR is that their products are always so unique and ethereal, so I was giddy to get my hands on this collection. Today, I'll be reviewing one of the recently launched products from this line: the RAW GARDEN Eye Shadow Palette in Caliche

The RAW GARDEN Eye Shadow Palette isn't a new product, but they did release a new shade variety for the palette, Caliche, which is a beautiful combination of muted purples that work together harmoniously.

The eye shadow palette comes in a glossy black circular compact that features a secure magnetic case. In the middle of the case is the Rouge Bunny Rouge logo engraved right into the center. The simplicity of the glossy black finish and minimalistic packaging gives the compact a very classy and chic vibe!

The case is relatively slim, sturdy, and made of a high quality material. The magnetic closure makes the compact easy to use and plus, it opens up all the way (180 degrees) making the eyeshadows very accessible.

Included inside the case is a clear, decently sized mirror that makes it possible to apply makeup on the go, bring along for travel, or just to check for touch-ups!

The RAW GARDEN Eye Shadow palette comes in 2 different shade combinations: Antigo and Caliche. The one I'll be reviewing today, Caliche, features 4 dusky and earthy purple hues in one single pan, making it easy to mix and match the shades or to use alone! All of the shades are a different variant of purple that somehow still manages to stay neutral thanks to the muted undertones. The eyeshadows in this quad were built to compliment one another and work together harmoniously, which I think it does really well. However, each hue does have a cool tone to it, so it might not compliment all skin tones!

Here are the shade descriptions corresponding with the palette:
TOP LEFT: a pearlized cream with pink undertones
TOP RIGHT: a cool-toned medium, dusty aubergine
BOTTOM RIGHT: a soft rosewood laced with greige
BOTTOM LEFT: a soft greyish mauve

Here are the shades swatched side-by-side on my arm (shown from right to left):

All of the hues have a satin finish to them, but with a unique luminous sheen that almost makes them appear glossy or 3-dimensional. I really like this finish for the top left shade, the pearlized cream, because it makes it ideal for highlighting the eyes, the brow bone, or the cheeks! However, this finish coupled with the eyeshadows transparency ends up making the shadows appear sheer and light on the lids. It gives the eyes a faint wash of color since it sheers out during application. Plus, the skin beneath the shadows still shows through, no matter how much I build up the shadow! This palette would be ideal for those who prefer more natural and sheer makeup looks, but if you prefer opaque eyeshadows with intense pigmentation then you might want to avoid this.

There's absolutely zero chunky glitters or specks of shimmers at all - just a pretty and even allover sheen! The eye shadows are enriched with Argan Oil and contain Encapsulated Hyaluronic Acid which gives the shadows a really velvety smooth texture. It feels almost slightly creamy, but these are still powder shadows that blend out effortlessly with zero creasing (even without a primer). The eyeshadows create a thin, lightweight, and silky veil of color over the lids that surprisingly feels nourishing on the the skin. I'm used to powdered shadows being drying on the lids, but that's definitely not the case here! There's a very natural, almost second-skin finish that I really like about the formula - it's perfect for everyday makeup looks! These shadows are very long lasting, even without a primer, and wear for about 7-8 hours before I notice any creasing or fading.

Overall, I think the RAW GARDEN Eye Shadow Palette in Caliche does a great job with offering unique shadows that's nourishing on the eyes. It has an incredibly smooth and velvety texture that's not drying whatsoever, and plus, there's no powdery mess! I was taken aback by how sheer these shadows applied though, so I'm not a huge fan of the transparency. If you're into more opaque shadows then you might want to skip on this. The transparent shadows do make for good daily makeup though, and I do find myself wearing these on days where I want a light wash of color. The luminous sheen to the shadows adds a unique aspect to it that brightens up the eyes, making them pop without being over-the-top!
