REVIEW: Kicho Phyto Natural Enriched Eye Cream

Ever since I've noticed more fine lines popping up around my eyes, I've been really keen about wearing eye cream every night. One of my favorites has been the Mizon Returning Starfish Eye Cream, which has sadly been discontinued so I've been tasked with finding the perfect replacement.

I've searched high and low for an eye cream that's plumping and highly moisturizing, but couldn't find one that did it all until now. Enter the Kicho Phyto Natural Enriched Eye Cream, which BNT News sent me to test out and boy, this one was a keeper!

KICHO PHYTO NATURAL ENRICHED EYE CREAM

The phyto gemmule extract and 7 patented natural ingredients prevent future wrinkles and care existing wrinkles. The Phyto Enriched Eye Cream comes encased in a frosted white jar with a twist off cap. It's made out of plastic (I think), but it feels a lot like a substitute for glass since it's a bit weighted. Like most of Kicho's products, its appearance is very simple and minimalistic, which fits with their "natural beauty" stance.

Included in the product box is a clear plastic spatula that's meant to scoop out the cream and keep the rest of the product in the jar as sanitary and bacteria free as can be. In general, I highly recommend using spatulas with jar-type products, and to keep your fingers out of there! Germs spread easily and it's better to be safe with your products.

I also want to note that not only is both Korean and English descriptions and directions written on the outside of the box packaging, but there is also more details and English ingredients printed on the INSIDE of the box too.

Now on to the good stuff... the formula! The eye cream contains soy phyto placenta water extracts, which is supposed to have a brightening and anti-wrinkle effect and visibly improve wrinkles/fine lines. It has a unique solid formula that's not quite a balm and also not quite a cream. Personally, I'd say it's a hybrid of the two - sort of like a pressed solid cream. Similar to some pressed serums in the market, this type of pressed eye cream is solid at first, but once it is warmed up/applied to the skin, it melts into a ultra moisturizing veil. It also has a yellow hue to it that makes it look like a tiny jar of butter, but hey, I don't mind! ;)

A little truly goes a long way with this product, and you only need the teeniest tiniest dab of cream. Once it melts on contact, it sinks right into the skin creating a silky soft texture that's not sticky. The amount below is for illustration purposes, but I really use like 1/5th of that!

Immediately upon application, I notice that my under-eye area appears more supple thanks to the major boost in hydration. The cream makes my fine lines slightly less apparent because of its silky texture that softens up the skin, but still they are noticeable, however when I wake up in the morning is when the results are the best - my fine lines are plumped up making my skin look more youthful and less tired and droopy. I can't speak on the long-term effects of this product yet though, since skincare (especially anti-aging products) take months to notice a change, but the day-to-day visible progress and soothing formula is enough for me to love this!

FINAL THOUGHTS

I love the Phyto Natural Enriched Eye Cream A LOT because I can actually notice changes in the appearance of my fine lines the next morning after consistent daily use, BUT I also know the insane price point. The eye cream weighs 20ml and is priced at $62, which I know is very steep for the amount of product you get. But for me, the quality is there and the results were ones that I could notice. I only use the teeniest dab of eye cream a day, and 10ml jars usually last me about half a year, so 20ml would easily last me a year or longer.

Personally, this product is worth it for me and I do recommend trying it out if you're on the market for a new eye cream that helps with wrinkles and fine lines! :)

  1. I looooooove Kicho - their Camellia Sleeping Pack and the Ultra Moisturizing Sun Cream are amazing! That eye cream looks intriguing, though a bit pricy, sigh. Doesn't Kicho just make the most gorgeously minimalist packaging?!
