UNBOXING: Beauteque Beauty Box April 2018

Beauteque sent me their Beauty Box (formerly known as BB Bag) for the month of April! The theme for this month was 'sip, sip, hooray!' or in other words, it was filled with "thirst-quenching" skincare.

Lets jump right in to the unboxing and review for April's BB Bag! :D

BEAUTEQUE APRIL 2018 BEAUTY BOX

The Beauteque Beauty Box is a monthly subscription beauty box that focuses exclusively on Korean beauty products including makeup, skincare, body & hair products, beauty tools, and etc. Each box comes with 6 full-sized products and each month revolves around a new theme!

WHAT'S IN IT: Korean cosmetics (including categories such as makeup, skincare, body, hair, bath, nails and beauty tools)

The Beauty Box theme for April was "Sip sip, Hooray!" which boasts having moisturizing skincare products for the face.

"On the menu this month is a complete assortment of thirst-quenching skincare that will help bring out your very best complexion. With vitamin-packed citrus, antioxidant-rich green tea, soothing honey & milk - there's something on deck for everyone!"

 I think Beauteque has very much improved fitting the items they curate in the box with the theme. All of the products were either very moisturizing or drink-based/drink-themed for this month. I also really like that they include a "menu" for what's in the box!

CANDY O'LADY ADE MIST

"The jelly-like mist is thicker and more hydrating than normal facial sprays. Bonus: smells amazing + travel-friendly!"

I received the Candy O'Lady Ade Mist in Blue Lemon Ade and I really like this spray! It smells like citrusy deliciousness, like lemonade/blue raspberry (blue raspberry Jolly Rancher to be exact). The bottle itself is fairly small, but it's ideal for travel. It's hydrating, but non-sticky at the same time and the blue water doesn't tint my skin. Plus, it's great for refreshing your makeup during the day. My only con is that it's not the finest of mists!

Also note, I don't think this is full size, but rather travel-size? I've seen bigger ones with 130ml worth of product while this is only 60ml. This could also just be a smaller sized version!

MEDI FLOWER GREEN TEA SLEEPING MASK

"Skincare while you sleep? Yes please! This sleeping pack works to smooth and brighten your skin while you catch your Z's."

The Medi Flower Green Tea Sleeping Mask is a lightweight gel that is meant to be use as your last skincare step before you sleep. It's supposed to help lock in all of your skincare steps while treating your skin at night. A little truly goes a long way with this and you only need a thin layer. It does feel a bit tacky once applied to the face, but nearly every sleeping mask I've used feels the same. I've only used this a couple times, but I haven't noticed much change to my skin except that it feels and looks just a tad more moisturized in the mornings. 

FARM STAY GREEN TEA SEED MOISTURE EMULSION

"It's light texture absorbs quickly and layers well with other products."

FarmStay is another brand that's relatively new to me. Honestly, I haven't been a particular fan of this brand, but it is a personal preference. I mean, all of their packaging looks like rip-offs from other brands (i.e. the All In One Honey Ampoule vs. Shara Shara's Honey Bomb and this Green Tea Seed Moisture Emulsion vs. packaging from Innisfree's green tea line)! However, I do understand that brands can use the same product manufacturers and it's nothing new to see similar packaging used across brands. *end rant*

I haven't been able to fully test this out since I have way too many lotions/emulsion-type products open at the moment, but I did try it out on my hand to see the texture. It feels very lightweight on the skin and sinks in quickly. I can see this being a good daily moisturizer in the mornings or in the summertime when you don't want anything too heavy on the skin!

A'PIEU HONEY AND MILK LIP OIL

"This thick, jelly-like treatment stays put and packs a sweet-scented, hydrating punch."

This, for me, was the star out of the entire box! The A'Pieu Honey and Milk Lip Oil is not only incredibly cute, but it also smells delicious like honey + milk (or like a creamy honey scent)! The applicator is a fat doe-foot paddle, which I really like because it makes it possible to apply this in 2 seconds. Everything about the formula is reminiscent of honey - it's thick, sweet-smelling, and nourishing. My only gripe is that it's just a tad sticky on the lips, but it does keep them moisturized and soft for hours!

A'PIEU VITAMIN TOK POWDER

"This vitamin-packed powder can be blended with your favorite skincare products or used on its own."

The Vitamin Tok Powder was another item I was stoked to try! This is a vitamin C powder that can be added to your cleanser, serums, moisturizers (any skincare product you use) or be used on its own. I like to add a few dashes to my moisturizer at night and I'll wake up to a brighter complexion. I also like to spot apply this to areas where I have hyperpigmentation or acne scars!

E. SALINE VOGUE GREEN TEA FACIAL OIL BLOTTING PAPER

THIS. Now this was another thing I was so excited for because look how cute it is! I'm a huge fan of blotting papers and I use them daily. These work great for absorbing excess sebum and oil and they don't disturb my makeup. I work 8:30-5 everyday so halfway through the day, I'll reach for these to blot my face. I might end up cutting these sheets in half because they're huge! These do have a green tea scent that is a little strong, but they're only on my face for a few seconds while I blot.

*For the value, I did a quick Google search to find stores selling the products. These do not include the cost of shipping, and any other miscellaneous costs. Beauteque's RRP values matched up for all the products this month (or they were even cheaper than other retailers)!

FINAL THOUGHTS

April's Beauty Box came with a total of 6 items with an estimated value of around ~$57! The box costs $24 (+ $3.95 shipping), so the value was a winner for this month. 

This month's bag was all skincare, which I can't hate on, but I do love my makeup! I would've enjoyed a mix of both, which is what they usually do. The selection was decent and it fit the theme really well too. Overall, I really enjoyed 4/6 products while the other two (the Medi Flower Green Tea Sleeping Mask and the Farm Stay Green Tea Seed Moisture Emulsion) I wasn't too excited for. It's just a personal preference since I own a ton of sleeping masks and emulsions already that I have to work through! I still think this is one of the better k-beauty subscriptions to try especially if you want the most bang for your buck.
