UNBOXING: Peach and Lily's SEOULCIALITE BOX 2.0

I haven't been this excited to do an unboxing since like... CHRISTMAS! I just received my Seoulcialite Box 2.0 which I placed an order for about a month ago. Well, IT'S FINALLY HERE! I feel like I've been waiting on this box for forever, so I'll get straight to the unboxing.

SEOULCIALITE BOX 2.0 UNBOXING

1. Shangpree Gold Modeling Mask (2 Sets) - Retail Value: $20/$10 each

Description: Rich gold and nourishing Asian botanicals are concentrated in this rubbery skin conditioning treatment to provide long-lasting moisture retention, remove impurities, and re-energize & revitalize skin. Each session will leave you with the appearance of firmer, hydrated, and a more youthful looking complexion.

My Thoughts: I just think it's so cool and crazy how this mask is made out of gold! Talk about being luxurious... This is the ultimate at home spa treatment and I can't wait to try it.

2. Shangpree Gold Bowl and Spatula Set - Retail Value: $10

Description: This Antibacterial Bowl and Spatula set enables the modeling mask experience to be nice and smooth, pun intended. The set is specifically designed for easy and sanitary use of the modeling mask and is reusable and non-toxic.

My Thoughts: This bowl and spatula set, along with the Shangpree Gold Modeling Mask, was the spoiler for the box. I wasn't that excited for the box after seeing the spoiler, but boy did my mind change when I pulled the bowl and spatula out of the box! It's not your average cheap plastic bowl, but it's actually an extremely flexible and bendable bowl in a stunning gold color. The spatula itself is relatively huge when compared to the cheap plastic spatulas that come with some creams or balm cleaners. I can actually see many uses with the spatula and the bowl set, like using the spatula to apply different kinds of masks to my face (not just the gold mask!) or the bowl can be used to hold water when I'm wetting my beauty blender, mixing up foundations, anything really! I also LOVE how this whole set is anti-bacterial because I'm a huge germaphobe.

3. Skin Inc Custom-Blended Serums in either Brightening, Anti-Aging, or Soothing (Full Size) - Retail Value: $45

I received the Anti-Aging Serum

Description for Anti-Aging: Tackle the signs of aging, with this custom-blend of Coenzyme Q10, Marine-Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid, formulated with Skin Inc's patented encapsulation technology. Blends Coenzyme Q10 to enhance skin's ability to renew itself, Marine-Collagen to promote the youthful elasticity and suppleness of your skin, and Hyaluronic Acid for long lasting hydration in your skin. Free of fragrances & parabens. Made in Japan.

My Thoughts: I'm very excited to receive a product from a Japanese brand! I don't have many beauty products from Japan so I definitely can't wait to try this. It's a unique little bottle and I love how it's custom-blended. The little colorful beads look gorgeous!

4. Dr. Dream Rose Line Mild Natured Powder Cleanser (Full Size) - Retail Value: $52

Description: A hypo-allergenic cleanser with no artificial colors, preservatives or sulfates. cornstarch and enzymes from papain gently cleanse the skin to slough away dead skin cells. Rose stem cell and trehalose leave skin feeling moist and cleared of dirt and debris. Bonus: it's not a liquid-type cleanser and therefore the perfect travel companion.

My Thoughts: This is also another new brand to me that I'm excited to use! I've used powder exfoliators before, but never a powder cleanser, that's pretty cool that it's travel-friendly

5. Be the Skin Moisture Natural Cleansing Soap in Rose, Calendula, or Charcoal (Full Size) - Retail Value: $19.50

I received the Rose.

Description for Rose: Featuring rose extract, a famed anti-aging ingredient known to fight fine lines and wrinkles. This no-frills soap hydrates while cleansing and promotes overall skin health. Notable ingredients include: Rose, Lavender, and Propolis.

My Thoughts: This is my first time ever having a bar soap cleanser. I'm not sure what the best way to store this is, since I'm a pretty big germaphobe, but it's definitely something that's very easy to try.

6. Cosrx Apple Zone Power Patch (1 Pack/4 Units) - Retail Value: $13

Description: What is the apple zone? It is the T-shaped area on the face from the highest point of the cheekbone, the skin just beneath the eyes and just before the jawline. It's an area that is easily dehydrated and often most exposed to irritants like UV rays and pollutants, resulting in acne and accelerated signs of aging. The Apple Zone Power Patch is a patch-type mask that targets these troubled, vulnerable areas to help rejuvenate and hydrate the skin.

My Thoughts: I really like how the pack has 4 masks, so I'm able to use it more than once. I do normally have dehydrated cheeks so I am excited to see how well this works.

7. Ciracle Jeju Volcanic Pore-tightening Mask (1 Sheet Mask) - Retail Value: $4

Description: The Jeju Volcanic Pore-tightening Mask is a sheet mask infused with purifying Jeju volcanic clay, clarifying binchotan charcoal powder, mineral-rich Jeju seawater, and Ciracle's own Pore Tightening Serum. This power combination of proprietary and hero ingredients work together in a rich formula concentrated directly on the skin to remove impurities while sealing up pores and imparting moisture on the skin.

My Thoughts: I've heard a lot of good things about the brand Ciracle, so I'm excited to try out this mask by them especially one that targets the pores!

8. Shangpree Bitgoa Hue Essence Toner (Travel Size) - Retail Value: $12.50

Description: Utilizing fermented extracts of lotus, soybean, pumpkin, rice, pomegranate, milk, and rye with the addition of ginseng root, this toner and essence does more than balance your pH. Fermentation breaks down extracts into smaller particles that are known to better penetrate the skin. This allows the ingredients to be more effective with results appearing shortly after beginning regular daily use. Benefits include boosted hydration, a smoother & brighter complexion, and balanced skin.

My Thoughts: Okay so, that is some expensive toner for this tiny bottle! I'm shocked this "travel-sized" (more deluxe-sized sample in my opinion) is actually $12.50!

9. Shangpree S-Energy Cleansing Gel (Sample Packet) - Retail Value: $0.75

Description: Tough enough to break up waterproof make-up and clean out tired pores while mild enough to use on sensitive skin. Infused with botanicals like lavender sage, and spearmint for nourishment.

My Thoughts: I was hoping for more deluxe-sized samples instead of sample packets so ehhh. It's nice to have to just try though.

10. Shangpree Crystal BB Cream (Sample Packet) - Retail Value: $0.75

Description: With a highly effective botanical formulation, Shangpree's Crystal BB Cream does more than cover unwanted spots and smooth over wrinkles. The creamy formula blends seamlessly for a natural finish, leaving the skin luminous and moisturized.

My Thoughts: I was hoping for more deluxe-sized samples instead of sample packets so ehhh. It's nice to have to just try though.

AMOUNT PAID: $49
TOTAL VALUE OF BOX: $177.50

PLUS, there's always a little thank you card with every order that comes with two sample packets! :)

REVIEW

THE GOOD...

First thing's first...  The box is just so beautifully crafted and designed! It arrived in a sturdy all-black box with magnetic closure. There was a beautiful silver box accent running all throughout the box and it's gorgeous! Upon opening the box, I also noticed the pretty geometric floral print on the inside and AH... I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and this box definitely puts all the other beauty boxes to shame.

Second thing that stood out to me was that THEY INCLUDED AN PRODUCT INFO BOOKLET. That may seem like a small inclusion for the box, but it's actually a huge pro factor and very important. The cute little information booklet describes all of the products included in the box along with detailed instructions on how to use and also why they chose to include that product in the box. Most products from Asia are very difficult to figure out how to use because there simply isn't any way to easily translate instructions, descriptions, etc., but Peach and Lily did all of the leg work for you! What's even better is that they tell you the actual retail price of every single product, even for the sample packets, so you actually know the ultimate value of the box you only paid $49 for.

The products included in this box are mostly new cult-favorites in Korea. I was a bit skeptical on ordering this box because honestly, $49 is a lot for a college kid and Peach and Lily said that they were including products that aren't even available on their website yet. Okay, that got to me. I was worried I might receive some products I wouldn't use, but of course I had to trust Peach and Lily because they've never done me wrong before. Also, I'm the ultimate beauty junkie and when I heard the words "hottest products right now" that won me over.

THE BAD...

Anyway, I have mixed feelings about this box. Personally, I was kind of disappointed. The reason for that being was cause I saw the very first Seoulcialite Box and it was AMAZING (but I missed out on it)! The reason I'm a bit disappointed is because I was hoping for more beauty products besides masks. Trust me, I LOVE masks, but I also see it as something I can easily pick up myself and what I was expecting was like cleansers, toners, creams, essences, and the like. The majority of this box was masks; there was the Shangpree Gold Premium Modeling Mask (2 sets), Cosrx Apple Zone Power Patch (1 pack/4 units), and the Ciracle Jeju Volcanic Pore-Tightening Mask (1 sheet mask). That's 3 items out of the 10* (*7 if you don't count the 2 sample packets & the deluxe-size/travel-sized toner). So if you love trying out different kinds of masks, DEFINITELY check out this box if it ever restocks!

Another thing I was iffy about was the fact that there were two cleansers in the box. Of course, they are two totally different kinds of cleansers, one being a powder cleanser and the other being a bar soap cleanser, but ya girl has a lot of cleansers already and was looking forward to a variety of beauty products (no makeup items this time?)!

THE LOVELY...

Though the box was a bit disappointing and underwhelming... What I did like about the Seoulcialite Box 2.0 was that Peach and Lily worked hard to incorporate new and different brands like Skin Inc and Rose by Dr. Dream. I've never heard of Dr. Dream, but I was definitely excited to receive the powder cleanser in the box. Skin Inc is a Japanese brand (I saw some of their products on Sephora) and what delightfully surprised me is the fact that Peach and Lily included this brand in their box. I always thought Peach and Lily was strictly just Korean beauty, but obviously that's not the case. They have branched out to a Japanese brand and I hope they continue branching out to many different kinds of brands and products from ALL over Asia. I know there's a lot of good products and brands out there, but I'm especially thankful to Peach and Lily for doing all of the leg work and bringing these new note-worthy brands to me.

This box is currently sold out and was only available for pre-order. I'm not certain as to whether or not they will restock this box (they did last year!), so fingers crossed for all of you who didn't get to snag one!

Let me know what you think of the box!

    1. Oooh I'm jealous because I missed out on the first one and really liked how there was Cremorlab in that box!

And yeah, I mean some of the items are pretty cool like the Skin Inc serum and the Rose by Dr. Dream Powder Cleanser, but I just wish there was a wider variety of products like makeup or just not so many masks!

I can't wait until they come out with the next one! :D

  2. I should not have read this :( I'm waiting for my box to come in the mail this Saturday and now I'm feeling let down lol. Lovely review and I agree with you in all points. Very underwhelming but hey, at least I'm out of hyaluronic acid, so SkinInc is not bad to have! :)

    1. How did you like your box? :) It was a disappointment at first, but it's always nice to try out new brands/products that they offer anyway, especially when that Skin Inc serum looks so cool! :D

  3. Omg I'm so jelly! I love the contents!!! I'm a skincare kinda girl but I can see where you're coming from. It would have catered to a wider audience had it contained makeup products. But still, it's my kind of box hahaha~

Btw, I believe Skin Inc is a Singaporean brand (but don't quote me on that).

    1. Ahhh, this would have been the PERFECT box for you then! The value was pretty high for the amount you pay too ($49)! I definitely love skincare as much as makeup, so I was also kinda disappointed in the lack of variety between brands and types of products (so many masks!)
