One makeup product that I don't rave enough about is blush. I personally think that blush is one of the easier makeup products to apply (we all know how difficult liquid liner and cat eyes can be). It's the perfect makeup item to give some natural (or bold, your choice) color to your cheeks and make you look alive. Today I'll be reviewing one of my favorites: the Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Hussy.
WHAT IS THE ILLAMASQUA POWDER BLUSHER?
The Illamasqua Powder Blusher is a blush made with a finely milled formula ensuring flawless application every time. Apply to the apples of the cheeks, or across cheekbones for color-intense impact.

REVIEW
Packaging and Design:
The first thing that caught my eye is the gorgeous sleek, but simplistic packaging. It's an shiny all-black plastic compact with a clear see-through top. The case is super easy to pop open and is also easy to shut close. The shape of the compact makes it really easy to hold and fit into the palm of the hand. I'm never afraid that I'm going to accidentally drop this because the design lets you have a very good grip on the blush. The compact itself feels a little bit flimsy, so I'm afraid that if this ever did drop, the blush would shatter and be done for.
Easy of Use:
Personally, powder blushes are the easier to apply. I just grab a blush brush, swirl it in the blush and just swipe it onto my cheeks and voila, I'm done! This blush is just as easy to use as any other powder brush. The Illamasqua Powder Blusher is the type of blush that you need to apply with a light hand if you don't want a lot of intense color. However, if you're wanting a bold look, just layer this blush on because it's easily buildable.
Texture and Scent:
The shade Hussy is a gorgeous rose pink with a teeny tiny hint of peachy-coral; Illamasqua describes this is a "bright candy pink," but I think that description is a little off. This blush has a matte finish and absolutely no shimmers, glitters, or anything added. This blush blends so beautifully on the skin, even when my skin is super dry, it doesn't cake up or cling to my dry spots (but it's always better to moisturize before applying makeup)! The blush isn't chalky or too powdery either. The scent is almost undetectable, but if you hold it to your nose and take a good whiff, it smells slightly sweet kind of like candy.
Effectiveness:
The Illamasqua Powder Blusher in Hussy is insanely pigmented, so remember a little goes a long way. One swipe of blush is all you need for an everyday look, but I also love how it's buildable for a more intense color. The blush is super long-lasting and lasts all day. I can spend 12 hours out and about and come home and see that my blush hasn't budged or fade. I truly believe that this shade would work well with all skin tones because it's SO pigmented! You don't have to worry about whether or not it will show up.
