Essences are one of my favorite things to use when it comes to my extensive 10-step nightly skincare routine simply because they're just so easy to use and can be highly effective in nourishing my skin!
Today, I'm going to be reviewing The First Ampoule Essence by BRTC that was sent to me from BNT News! I have heard from other bloggers that this is an affordable dupe for the famous SK-II's essence, however I won't be able to compare the two since I haven't gotten the chance to get my hands on the SK-II one!
WHAT'S THE FIRST AMPOULE ESSENCE?
The First Ampoule Essence by BRTC is an ampoule essence that enhances elasticity and gradually improves tired and dull skin.
With it's 95.3% of Fermentox (fermented patented ingredients), this product soothes irritated skin while also boosting the skin's condition for a healthier, brighter, and fresher appearance. Its patented Blue Phyto Complex also effectively soothes your skin.
Fermentox: A complex ingredient containing yeast extract from fermented brow rice, green tea, and taraxacum platycarpum helps to enhance skin's elasticity and leaves skin vitalized and healthy.
Blue Phyto Complex: BRTC's proprietary ingredient containing ECOCERT-certified lavender water. It alleviates skin stress, dryness, itchiness, and softens rough skin.

REVIEW
Packaging and Design
The First Ampoule Essence comes has a very simplistic packaging like most of BRTC's products. This essence comes in a heavy frosted glass bottle with a silver tin-like twist-off cap. Altogether, it looks very classy and luxurious. The bottle requires extra care because it's real glass, so this isn't travel-friendly. There are little measurement markings running up along the sides of the bottle which are very helpful because they demonstrate the recommended amount for use per day. According to the markings, the bottle is meant to last only 30 days.
Texture and Scent
The First Ampoule Essence has an extremely thin and watery texture. Because it's so lightweight, it is easily and quickly absorbed into the skin (a huge plus)! The scent is almost undetectable, but there is a slight clean and herbal aroma. The scent is so hard to notice and is extremely faint that I would even recommend this to those who are sensitive to smells!
Ease of Use
HOW TO USE: Every morning and night, soak a cotton pad with an amount equal to 1/2 of a marking (1 marking per day). Gently swipe the cotton pad across the face and tap with fingers for better absorption.
It's recommended to use 1/2 of a marking per use (1 per day) for the essence to be its most effective.
However, there are 3 different ways I like to apply essences:
1) Pour the essence directly into the palms of your hand (I use about 4-5 drops) and rub the essence between your palms. Then, pat the essence all throughout your face.
2) Soak a cotton pad with the essence and swipe the essence all along the face.
3) Soak a multi-layer cotton pad with the essence. Take apart the cotton pad layers and apply along the face and leave for about 10 minutes. This is sort of like a DIY face mask and definitely the most relaxing way to apply essences.
After my cleansing routine, I soak a cotton pad with this essence (or any of the other ways to apply) and swipe it across my face. The lightweight and watery texture allows it to quickly absorb into the skin without leaving a greasy or sticky finish.

Performance
What I love most about using this essence is that it really calms down my rough skin. I normally have dull and dehydrated skin, but upon using this essence, my skin has become brighter and more moisturized with a huge decrease in redness. This essence also helps to boost my skin's elasticity making it much more supple to the touch. My skin looks clearer and the texture is more even throughout. The First Ampoule Essence has helped nourish my skin back to a healthy and bright complexion with a natural glow.
FINAL THOUGHTS?
I think this is a great essence especially if you have dull and tired skin! It has helped nourish my skin back to a healthy and glowing state the more I use it. My skin's texture and overall appearance has gotten a lot more even throughout. It has helped to eliminate and calm down my rough patches and the redness in my face making my complexion more clear.
