REVIEW: White Cat Super Berry Silky Eye Balm

As a college student and a beauty blogger, I spend countless hours up late into the night working on homework, papers, projects, or even blog posts. This usually causes me to miss out on sleep and get heavy dark circles, which can get so bad that they sometimes resemble panda eyes! I've tried many products trying to combat my dark circles, but none have worked in actually lessening them; some only make my dark circles appear less noticeable, but none truly help fix the problem.

Today I'm going to be reviewing the Super Berry Silky Eye Balm by White Cat that was kindly sent to me from BNT News! This eye balm is meant to improve the whole under-eye area in general, and hopefully my dark circles.

But can we all just pause and look at how freaking adorable the logo of the white cat is?! :D White Cat is a new brand to me, so I was super excited to give this eye balm a try.

WHAT'S THE SUPER BERRY SILKY EYE BALM?

The Super Berry Silky Eye Balm by White Cat is an eye balm that contains a unique blend of many kinds of berries and vitamin E derivatives that work to smoothen the skin around your eyes and make you appear younger.

This eye balm has great anti-aging effects thanks to its ingredients containing 12 different berries such as Chinese Matrimony Vine, Raspberry, Strawberry, Blackberry, and many more. It effectively improves the wrinkles, dark circles, and helps prevent aging around the eye area.

REVIEW

Packaging and Design
Everything about this product is just plain cute! The eye balm is decked out in a deep berry shade with black and white cheetah print running all along the sides of the little jar. The matching box it comes in is even cuter with black cheetah print printed all throughout. The jar is made entirely of a strong plastic that's sturdy enough to be travel-friendly whether you want to pack it up for a road trip or toss it in your bag to bring on-the-go. The Super Berry Silky Eye Balm has a thin twist-off cap that's easy to twist off/on. The jar is a very decent size for an eye balm and there's so much product inside meaning it could last a very, very long time, so you definitely get your money's worth.

Texture and Scent
The Super Berry Silky Eye Balm is a completely solid white balm that melts onto the fingers in very thin layers. When dipping the fingers in the jar, the product feels very smooth, creamy, and silky. My fingers just glide around in the jar gathering product as it sticks to my fingers and when it does, the balm's texture changes to a clear-ish one that I find to be slightly oily.

It has a very natural scent that's hard for me to describe besides it's a mixture of many berries and herbals. It's very faint and not really noticeable unless you're sticking your nose deep inside the jar.

Ease of Use
HOW TO USE: Apply evenly to under eye area from the inside working your way out and above the cheek.

This eye balm can be used before and/or after your makeup application. However, I prefer to use it before my makeup because it functions as a primer for my under-eye concealer. The reason I don't like to apply it after my makeup is because it feels slightly oily and this oiliness breaks up my makeup causing it to rub right off.

Now, I like this eye balm a lot when using before my makeup application. I apply this eye balm right before I apply my under-eye concealer to help keep my concealer in place and it improves the application making my concealer stick better and look better.

Performance
As I said above, this eye balm works in improving my makeup application and my overall appearance. The eye balm works by filling in my fine lines and wrinkles in my under-eye area therefore making makeup application a lot smoother and my face look more youthful because of the fewer amount of visible wrinkles.

This product does help to nourish my skin beneath my eyes, but I was unable to see result with fading my dark circles or a reducing puffiness. I've been using this product for almost four weeks now and haven't notice any huge anti-aging benefits that it claims, but it has helped to improve my skin's texture. My skin has remained a lot more supple since using the eye balm, which as a result does make me appear a bit more youthful, but it's nothing that's drastic or obviously noticeable. The eye balm works really well in filling in fine lines and wrinkles for makeup application, but the effectiveness in other claims were minimal for me.

PROS

Travel-friendly
Easy to use and apply
Fills in fine lines and wrinkles
Improves makeup application and appearance
Improves skin's texture by making it more supple

CONS

Feels a little oily
No drastic or obviously noticeable improvements with dark circles

FINAL THOUGHTS?

Overall, the cuteness of this product makes it hard not to love, but looking beyond the packaging, you'll see that it works with makeup application by filling in fine lines and wrinkles. This aids my under-eye concealer in going on more evenly and smoothly. Plus, the reduction in visible wrinkles does help me appear younger. With prolonged use of the Super Berry Silky Eye Balm, I noticed my under-eye area's texture improving and it has become more supple and less rough. However, I was unable to see any other drastic or noticeable improvements with my skin in relation to dark circles or any of the other claims. This is a product I definitely see myself using to as an under-eye primer, so if that's what you're looking for I highly recommend! The amount you get for the price you pay is crazy; I've been using this for almost 4 week already and haven't made a dent! BUT, if you're looking for a product to help with dark circles then this eye balm probably isn't for you.

The White Cat Super Silky Eye Balm (15g) retails for 32,000 won (~$27.64). I was able to find it online for $24 and it is available at Skin18.com, HERE!

  3. With Under Eye Dermalmd Puffiness went away almost instantly. The dark circles are taking a bit longer. But I do love this product. I've tried other products and nothing has compared to this.
