REVIEW + SWATCHES: Memebox I'm Matte Lip Crayon

I'm super excited to be reviewing the Memebox I'm Matte Lip Crayons, courtesy of Memebox! :D I've mentioned before on this blog that crayon and stick products are without a doubt my favorite kinds of products because of how easy they are to use and control. I have loved every single kind from lip crayons, eyeshadow crayons, to stick foundations -- the list could go on and on! It's just something about the products being in a stick/crayon form that makes it just so much easier to maneuver and plus, they're also super travel friendly!

MEMEBOX I'M MATTE LIP CRAYON

Matte lips made easy. I'm Matte Lip Crayon is perfect for beginners who want to try the matte lip trend. Indulge your lips in flower-inspired hues that feel petal-soft and comfortable on the skin.

The I'm Lip Crayons all come in a very sleek and smooth matte black packaging with pull-off caps. The packaging reminds me a lot of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, so these could possibly be a dupe?! I only own one of the Nars Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, so I can't say for a fact, but the I'm Matte Lip Crayons are very similar. Though, they're not a 100% exact dupe -- some of the I'm Matte Lip Crayons settle in my fine lines while the Nars one I own doesn't. However, the I'm Matte Lip Crayons are only a fraction of the price with very decent pigmentation, so it's definitely a good alternative!

The end of each crayon is color-coded to match the lipstick shade of the crayon, which makes telling them apart super quick and easy. The I'm Lip Crayons also have retractable tips which allows for easy application, and there's no need to sharpen! The colored ends are also where you twist to dispense more product. Packaging definitely gets an A+ in my book ^ o ^

The I'm Matte Lip Crayon comes in 6 gorgeous shades:
JOY   |   LORA   |   BLAIR  |   GRETA  |   NATASHA |   VANESSA

These lipstick shades are flower-inspired and range from natural nude pinks, corals, a pretty red, and even a beautiful plum shade! The shade selection for these matte crayons are so on point and I absolutely love how they can be dressed up or down. All of these shades are muted which makes them easy to wear for any and every occasion whether you're casually wearing them to school, work, date nights, or anything!

Each shade from the matte collection is highly pigmented with very vivid color payoff! One swipe is all you need for full-on color with a soft and velvety matte finish. The I'm Lip Matte Crayons are also long-lasting with very little color transfer, if any! I can eat and drink and my lips will look almost as good as when I first applied it. The wear time is about 5-6 hours for me without cracking or fading.

The I'm Matte Lip Crayons have a matte finish, but the flash made the swatches look a little deceiving. My lips look more satin and slightly glossy, but it's completely matte! Sorry about that :(

Joy is the lightest shade out of the six. It's a nude pink and that's just dark enough to work with my medium skin tone without looking washed out. Unfortunately, I noticed that this particular shade and Lora settled in my fine lines, but the others did not. It might be because it's a lighter hue -- I usually have this problem with light lip colors, but not with darker ones.

Lora is a gorgeous coral pink that leans a bit more towards the pink side of the spectrum than to orange. It's pretty similar to Joy, but is a smidge darker. This is my preferred "my lips but better" shade and is perfect for everyday wear. Unfortunately, Lora also settled in fine lines, but it wasn't as bad as Joy. It's something that can definitely be fixed with some lip primer!

Blair is a dusty coral and unfortunately, my lighting and camera made it look a LOT more orange than it actually is. I honestly don't know what the heck happened during this photo haha, but it's slightly darker. Anyway, what I like about Blair is that it doesn't settle into fine lines at all unlike the previous two. It's also a great everyday hue that's not too bold, but adds just enough pop to any outfit. It's a lovely dusty shade that would be perfect during the fall season!

Greta is my personal favorite and is described as a dry rose or a dusty pink. It's slightly darker than my natural lip color and I find myself reaching for this almost every single day. It's the perfect muted rose and mauve mixture that would be a great nude/neutral shade for all skintones!

Natasha iconis a vivid cherry red that would be the perfect red lipstick staple in your makeup collection. I think it would really compliment all skin tones despite how bold it is!

Vanessa iconis a beautiful plum shade that is also one of my favorites from this collection. It goes well with the 'vampy' lip trend without being too dark.

The I'm Lip Matte Crayons are also formulated with nourishing oils such as Jojoba, Baobab, and Argan, along with Shea Butter and Manuka Honey Extract to nourish the lips and keep them hydrated while wearing. The lip crayons glide on the lips and apply easily, plus despite my naturally dry lips, the lipstick didn't cling to any of my dry spots, which is a huge plus! As I've mentioned in the previous mini reviews of each shade, the two lightest colors do settle in my fine lines a bit, but wearing a lip primer might help. I didn't notice this problem at all with the rest of the shades!

I highly recommend picking up a few of the I'm Matte Lip Crayons. They're high-quality lip crayons with long-lasting and intense color that doesn't dry out the lips! Plus, they're super affordable! ^ o ^

The Memebox I'm Lip Matte Crayon retails for $9 and is available in all 6 different shades: Joy, Lora, Blair, Greta, Natasha, and Vanessa!
