REVIEW: THELAVICOS Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask

Today's review is going to be on the Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask from the brand, THELAVICOS. I love experiencing new brands, so when I saw this in my BNT Box, I was super excited! There's thousands of Korean beauty brands I have yet to discover, and I'm on a quest to try them all, or at least as most as I can in this lifetime ^ o ^. Though I haven't heard much about THELAVICOS, I did get the chance to try their Enzyme Washing Powder, which I thoroughly enjoyed, so I was thrilled to see how the Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask holds up.

THELAVICOS NUTRITION HYDRO GEL MASK

The Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask comes in a pack of 5 sheet masks each containing 30g of product. These masks are made of a hydrogel material that feels really relaxing and soothing on the skin. Unfortunately, I'm not a huge fan of hydrogel masks, and I actually prefer those made of cotton, silk, or biocellulose! Hydrogels have a tendency to not stay on as well as the other types of masks. Like most hydrogels, the Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask doesn't hug or grip my face as much as I would like it to.

To help counteract this, the hydrogel mask has two different textures. One side of the mask is completely smooth, while the other side has a very faint textured design that is supposed to cause traction and help keep it from sliding. Luckily, it works! Though the mask doesn't grip onto my face as well as I would like it to, it doesn't slide around despite it's slippery texture!  This mask didn't require any readjusting at all throughout the wear time.

The shape and size of the Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask is nearly perfect! It's a decent fit for my face with proportionate cutouts for the eyes, nose, and mouth! This particular mask comes in two separate pieces, a top half and a bottom half. To use, apply the top half first, and the layer the bottom half over it for a more customized fit.

The Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask is a multifunctional mask that claims to have whitening and anti-wrinkle benefits for the skin. Thankfully, the mask has ingredients and directions in both Korean and English!

INGREIDENTS: Water, Glycerin, Methylpropanediol, Niacinamide, Alcohol, Ceratonia Siliqua Gum, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan) Extract, Tamarindus Indica Seed Gum, Potassium Chloride, Hydrolyzed Collagen, Swiftlet Nest Extract, Butylene Glycol, PEG-60 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Extract, Schizandra Chinensis Fruit Extract, Coptis Japonica Root Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Asiaticoside, Propolis Wax, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol, Xanthan Gum, Adenosine, Disodium EDTA, Dextrin, Potassium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Carbomer, Polysorbate 20, Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide-7, Chlorphenesin, Fragrance

The most notable ingredients in this mask include: Swiftlet Nest Extract, Soybean Ferment Extract, Adenosine, Niacinamide, and Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide.

Swiftlet Nest Extract is meant to strengthen the skin's barrier, which makes the skin healthy and glowing. Soybean Ferment Extract and Adenosine are both anti-inflammatory ingredients that help calm down troubled skin like acne or eczema, while also supporting healthy cellular activity. Niacinamide has a TON of benefits for the skin especially dealing with age -- It helps improve the skin's elasticity and the outer barrier, while also working to improve your skin's complexion and bringing it back to its healthy tone and texture. Lastly, Palmitoyl Tetrapeptide also helps improve the skin's elasticity, but by making skin thicker that has become thinner due to age.

Also, I want to mention to not be alarmed about the use of the word 'whitening' with this mask because it doesn't actually bleach the skin, but instead it makes the complexion brighter and more luminous!

The Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask is drenched in a clear essence, but the mask was surprisingly drip and mess free! As I mentioned before, one side of the mask has a slightly textured side that's made to give the mask some grip while the other side is completely smooth. It has a recommended wear time of 20~30 minutes, however I left mine on for about 40 minutes to get the most from my sheet masks!

The hydrogel mask felt really cooling and soothing on the skin. After removing the mask, the essence absorbed pretty quickly onto my skin leaving it much more hydrated and plump! I noticed that my skin looked revitalized -- my skin was much smoother, supple to the touch, and my overall complexion was improved. My face was brighter with no more dry or rough patches around my cheeks or my nose. Plus, I had a more even complexion with even skin texture and tone. I also had a luminous glowing complexion that lasted well into the next day!

FINAL THOUGHTS

The Nutrition Hydro Gel Mask by THELAVICOS is a decent mask that helps revitalize the skin and improve the skin's overall texture and complexion. It has a handful of unique ingredients that truly work to help the skin's barrier and the results were great. If you're into hydrogels, I'd definitely recommend trying this out, but personally these weren't that special or one-of-a-kind for me. There are definitely some more affordable sheet masks out there in the market that can deliver the same results too!
