REVIEW: May Coop Raw Sauce

The July BNT Box I received from BNTNews was by far the best one I've received so far. My favorite out of the box, and the item I'll be reviewing today, is the May Coop Raw Sauce! I mean just look at the cool wooden packaging!

WHAT IS THE MAY COOP RAW SAUCE?

The May Coop Raw Sauce is a multi-functional essence that combines the effects of a toner, an essence, and a lotion.

Unlike most beauty items that use water as their main ingredient, the May Coop Raw Sauce incorporates Maple Sap due to its effective moisturizing capabilities since it's rich in glycerin and helps to reinforce the skin's immunity.

First of all, I cannot rave enough about the packaging! I adore the simple wood design on the packaging of the box as well as on the cap of the bottle. The bottle itself feels of extreme high quality; it's a heavy frosted glass bottle with an easy twist-on cap. There's nothing more that I love than a product that works well, but also has great packaging! The box also comes with a satchel for the bottle and a little fact sheet that unfortunately doesn't have any English words on it.

The wooden cap is so unique and exemplifies May Coop's focus on using natural ingredients and maple sap (maple trees anyone?).

When you first open up the bottle, there will be a small white plug covering the opening of the bottle. To start using, just simply pull on the plug and yank it out! It's all set to use once you do. :)

The opening of the bottle is relatively small, but it's perfect for the Raw Sauce. The small opening allows for control when dispensing the essence, so you don't accidentally dispense too much. I only need about 3-4 drops for my entire face (and enough for my neck), so a little definitely goes a long way! That means that this bottle will last a VERY long time. (UPDATE: I just finished using it all up and it's been exactly 8 months! I use about 4 drops per day, but sometimes morning and night, so 8 drops occasionally.)

To use, I just dispense a few drops into the palm of my hands and rub my palms together to help emulsify the essence and then rub it all over my face and neck.

The Raw Sauce also smells fantastic! I love the slightly sweet scent; it's almost like diluted syrup. It's  not too strong and definitely not to the point where it's sickening sweet!

The consistency of the Raw Sauce is like a slightly thick serum that isn't super runny like water. It has a light yellowish tint, but goes onto the skin and absorbs completely clear. When applying onto the skin, it's very light like an essence, but is hydrating just like a moisturizer. It's not greasy or oily at all. It also absorbs quickly and does not leave a sticky residue. I never like to skip moisturizing my skin, but after I apply the Raw Sauce, my skin isn't dry or too tight. The Raw Sauce actually gives my skin a natural luminous glow while also improving my skin by making it more supple.

PROS:

Beautiful high-quality packaging
Easy to control amount dispensed
A little goes a long way

CONS:

NONE

RATING: 5/5

  4. Hi there - what are your thoughts on this product now that you have had it for a little bit longer? I just picked up mine tonight, a little uncertain if I want to keep it as I am also looking for a regular night cream/moisturizer. Thanks in advance!

    1. I still use it every night and love it! However, it's definitely more like a toner & essence and less of a moisturizer. It does hydrate and moisturize the skin, but definitely not enough to use on its own and you'll probably need a separate moisturizer!
